Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook
I appreciate you patience in reading the following. I've started to blame TrendMicro's renewal of their AntiVirus software. Yes. their new version now has ant-spy, too. Do you know of any conflicts? After all, last year at this time, BestBuy/Geeks were installing Webroot's anti-spy and TrendMicro's Anti-Virus. With that quantity of separate programs on so many machines, certainly my issue can't be that unique. I'd like to think that my renewal from two different vendors for different applications; 1=anti-spy, 2=anti-virus; would still work.
This is what I sent TrendMicro & Webroot.
Despite successful download and installation upon subscription renewals, I am conviced one of the new versions is failing to allow wireless print jobs to finish. They now hang up with only one or two lines left. I am set up to print wireless. I was printing completely successfuly with this system before the aformentioned installations, for which I did temporarily disable the UAC for TrendMicro. Nothing has changed in my system since that successful print before installations. I have restored the UAC. Hence my suspicion of one of these new versions. I print via NetGear RangeMax WPN824 v2 router and D-Link DPR-1260 print server to HP OfficeJet 5610 All-in-one.
Printing is perfectly fine via hard-wire USB connection.
I deleted the D-Link Print server and re-installed it, two ways…
1. With UAC still active, I received three warning messages…
a. One was some OS error, or something
b. One was from TrendMicro saying that the D-Link install setup was a potential threat. When I selected the option to trust and run (actual message was probably different), nothing happened, except
c. …Windows detected that something did not install properly. I received a Windows message to that effect, and a subsequent question if I wanted to proceed with its recommended fix. I chose to do so, but nothing happened.
d. … I still failed to print an entire sheet.
2. With UAC inactive, everything appeared to work, as no messages appeared. I did not do the prompted test print. Nonetheless, the subsequent print failed identically.
If i were you i would re-install windows on a brand new hard dive, it may have bad sectors
