I set up my airconditioner and it worked and then it just went off. I found the plug in the back and emptied the water out of it (maybe 1 cup?) and it turned back on for about an hour- then went back off again. I emptied it again (this time a little less), and now it is working- I used this ac all last summer without any problems- what can I do about this?

I think this a fault with the cooling compressor.
When it cuts out aggain, turn off and unplug. See if the compressor is hot to the touch. If it is, I think it's tripping the overload protector. This is usually due to a faulty capacitor.

If you are unable to check the unit, take it to a service centre, or call an engineer to check and replace the defective components.

The compressor will always be hot if running :/
