Thats either the flyback or the HV splitter. If the sound is coming from the rear left side its the flyback. If its coming from the front of the set its the HV splitter. They are both easy to replace. I will post a link where you can get replacements with instructions if you would like.
Look on Deflection board If cp150 capacitor is puffed up on top it is bad there is 3 caps to replace cp150(,2200uf 16v ) cp114,cp120.(220uf 35v). The SSB board can also shut set down.
the blinking light indicate the compter processor has shut the set down. this could be one of many reasons.. is their any sounds. from speakers or back of set?...uplug the set and wait 10 min and plug back up .. any change?
blinking light indcate a processor shutdown.. the processor has detected a problem in safety circuits and shut down the set. common problem are flyback and horizotal ouptut transistor. the processor has a error log file. technicians can plug a specail computer and read those to determine problem
