XKeys & Mac10,5

Dear Pie,
I have just converted (from macOS9) to mac OSX (10.5 = Leopard).
I am having trouble finding software that will run all my X-keys (I have 8 of them) in my medical practice.
They all worked great under OS 9 with the software you provided at that time.
Your website says to use "iKey for X-keys" but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work anymore and hasn't been upgraded for ? 2 years.
This was a bit of a shock for me cos I had expected to continue to use them + intended to buy some more soon
PLEASE have you any robust recent software that Macs can use to program Xkeys
PLEASE reply - what is going on, (even if it is a short reply) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
many thanks
Ken G

SOURCE: PI Engineerings' "xkeys" usb (stick)

This is a problem with our older firmware on some (but not all) systems. We know what the issue in our firmware is, and have changed it for all future devices, but we are not able to update older devices. We are unsure why this feature interacts with some computers -- it may be a variety of factors, including operating system and motherboard chipset. All we can really do is ensure that it doesn't happen in the future, with our newest firmware.

As of right now, there are no known workarounds.

I HAVE AN APPLE POWERBOOK G4 I PURCHASE FROM EBAY IT IS CURRENTLY RUNNING MAC OS 9 ,HOW CAN I UPGRADE TO OSX 10 ?

Hi Bobby
You will need to get an OS X installation DVD. Try eBay.Don't go for anything lower than 10.4 (Tiger)10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard) should run fine on this machine.Don't bother with 10.7 or 10.8

I installed Scan2Mac n my iMac. Mac recognizes Scanner and I can read SD card. When I select Scan to Mac - and scan - it saves to SD card and not Mac. I reinstalled and same thing happens

Are you running OSX Lion? If so, that may be the issue.
I have 2 MacBook Pros, one running Lion, one Snow Leopard.
The Scan2Mac software works fine on the Snow Leopard machine - takes only a few seconds to create image in a MBP directory.
It does not work at all on the Lion machine. Worse, the scans to the memory card take up to 2 minutes, before the scanner will process another photo.
I installed the Scan2Mac app on both machines from the same dmg.
The Pandigital website offers no updates to the software, which was created in 2009.

I have the 8 disc set (mac version) purchased in the year 2000 working with OSX 9. Now I have a new mac with snow leopard version OSX 10. I would like to use the disc's with the new computer, what do I do?

Unfortunately the software will not work with OSX. OS9 (also refered to as classic os) had some compatibility with macs up to 2005 when Apple changed the processors in macs to Intel. Since then all OS9 software no longer works.
There is a small chance you may be able to browse/search the CD's folders for images as the photo objects may be in jpg/gif/png format. Try opening finder, select the CD. and search with the text box in the upper right corner in Finder.

Lexmark X2650 scanner in Mac OSX 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard)

You need to update your driver by getting the latest software in the Lexmark website here. During software update what usually gets updated are the basic functionalities. In this case it looks like the scanner is not being updated as well. Hope this helps.

SCSI to USB Cable or Converter for Astra 2400S Scanner?

You need a Firewire/ SCSI adapter. Mine is a Belkin F5U541. Then simply connect a SCSI cable from the scanner to the adapter & a Firewire cable from the adapter to your Mac. I'm using my old Umax Astra 2400S w/ a G5 iMac running OSX 10.6.7. I had to upgrade my old copy of VueScan, however, to run on Snow Leopard

HP Scanjet 4470c compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.1

You will not find drivers for this old scanner. Sorry but this scanner is not compatible with Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard, and HP offers no drivers other than for OSx 8.0 & 9.0 which are 10 years old. Time to purchase a new scanner.

Is there an update for Print explosion deluxe 2.0.2. not listed here! I have an Apple Mac OSX 10.4.11 and am finding my programme very slow when changing anything. Please help me. Frustrated user

For users of Print Explosion Deluxe 3 on a Mac, Nova Development has acknowledged that the software has bugs running on Leopard or Snow Leopard. The software does crash after each operation if you do not save. I filed a complaint with the NYS Attorney General's office, to which Nova's reply was not honest Contact your state's Attorney General and let them know that Nova is selling software that has basically been sitting on store shelves for two + years, and they never tested it with Leopard and Snow Leopard. They should be required to accurately tell us what OS a software product runs on.
