My wii balance board keeps telling me to step off and press A, while I am not on it.

Give credit to GKC on justanswer!!
The exact procedure is:

• Even if the battery level is strong, try the following:

Remove the batteries in the Wii Fit Board for at least 1 minute……

Try these steps!

1 Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

2 Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to get a clean start to begin the process described below.

3 After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:

a With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the batteries.

b Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

c Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

d When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

4 Start the game from the Wii Menu, then sync the Wii Balance Board from the opening screen of the game.

Wii fit board won't work

Hello,

Here you have different procedures on what to do if you get that error message. Please get back to me if nothing works.

The exact procedure is:

• Even if the battery level is strong, try the following:

Remove the batteries in the Wii Fit Board for at least 1 minute…… better 15

Hope it helped.

Wii fit board

My husband fixed my wii balance board, it's the sync button. The button on the switch is too long and if there's any lateral stress it resets. The switch toggles, not just up and down when you push the sync button. Hubby took the board apart, took out the sync switch, trimmed the button by 1/2 the length, it's now recessed and when there's lateral stress, no resetting or re-sync happens. It works perfectly and never loses connection no matter what i'm playing! You can still re-sync the board, but need to use a paperclip or pen to push on the botton
