I am receiving a CABLE NOT CONNECTED error when I connect my vga monitor to my laptop using an VGA to HDMI cable

If you actually have a cable with HDMI on one end and VGA on the other, it will probably not work. HDMI uses a digital signal and VGA uses an Analog signal, there needs to be some circuitry somewhere that handles the conversion. You are probably getting Cable Not Connected because the monitor is scanning for an Analog signal and not recognising the digital signal coming in over the VGA port.

What is the best way to connect 2 computers to this monitor

If you have two separate computers for different purposes, such as personal and work use, you may find it convenient and necessary to connect both to a single monitor. Many monitors have dual inputs, making such a connection simple. However, you might need a keyboard, video and monitor switch to accomplish this task if the monitor lacks a second input. Dual Inputs
Step 1 Examine the back of your monitor for the presence of dual video inputs, such as a single VGA and DVI or HDMI output.
Step 2 Connect the VGA cable to one computer. Plug the other end of the cable to the matching input on the monitor. Rotate the retaining screws until tight at both ends of the cable.
Step 3 Plug the DVI or HDMI cable into the back of the second computer. Insert the other end into the monitor's digital video input. Screw down the retaining screws if you're using DVI.
Using a KVM Switch
Step 1 Ensure both computers are turned off. Place the KVM switch on your desk where it is within convenient reach.
Step 2 Locate the video output port on the back of the KVM switch. Plug a VGA cable into this port. Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the monitor.
Step 3 Plug the VGA monitor outputs from each computer into the inputs on the back of the KVM switch. Tighten the retaining screws down for each connected VGA cable on the computers and the KVM switch.
Step 4 Plug the keyboard and mouse cables into their respective outputs on the KVM switch. Plug each set of keyboard and mouse cables from their ports on each computer into the matching inputs on the KVM switch. Plug each cable in sequentially to avoid mixing them up between machines.
Step 5 Double-check that the mouse, keyboard and monitor cables leading from each computer all correspond to the right machine. Plug the KVM switch's power cord into a nearby AC outlet or power strip.
Step 6 Turn the computers and monitor on to verify the connections are correct.

Required Items

  • VGA cable
  • DVI or HDMI cable
  • KVM switch
  • Power strip (optional)

How much would it cost to fix handbreak light it on even when handbreak is on

The handbrake light is also the 'low fluid' warning light. It is connected to the handbrake as that ensures that it is checked every time you use the handbrake. If it remains on all the time, then check the brake fluid and top up if required. If the fluid is ok then it is probably the switch on the lever and is adjustable

Abs light traction on handbreak light flashing

Did the handbreak get pulled by chance? There should be an adjustable switch at the end of the saddle- it may just be coincidence,

Is the handbrake cable loose at the wheels? Moving it around should free it up if they had been set and are hanging up.

PC SWITCHS ON BUT NO PICTURE

1. Check to make sure your monitor is on! Some monitors have more than one power button or switch - check to make sure they're all switched on.Check for disconnected monitor power cable connections. Your monitor might be working fine and your only problem may be a loose or unplugged monitor power cable.Note: A disconnected monitor power cable could be the cause of your problem if your monitor's power light is completely off.Check for disconnected monitor data cable connections. Again, your monitor might be turning on without a problem but no information can get to it because the cable that connects your monitor to your computer is disconnected or loose.Note: A disconnected monitor data cable could be the cause of your problem if your monitor's power light is on but is amber or yellow instead of green.Turn the monitor's brightness and contrast settings completely up. Your monitor might be showing information but you just can't see it because these display settings are too dark.Note: Most monitors today have a single onscreen interface for all settings, including brightness and contrast. If it turns out that your monitor isn't working at all then you'll likely not have access to this interface. An older monitor might have manual knobs for adjusting these settings.Test that your computer is working correctly by connecting a different monitor that you are certain is working properly to your PC. Your monitor may be working fine but your computer might not be sending information to it.If the new monitor you connected does not show anything either, proceed to Step 6.If the new monitor you connected does show information from your computer, proceed to Step 7.Important: When testing with the new monitor, make sure you use the data cable that came with it and not the one from your original monitor.Determine why your computer isn't sending information to your monitor. Since neither monitor works, you now know that the computer is not sending information to the monitor. In other words, you've proven that your computer is the reason that nothing shows up on your monitor.Chances are your original monitor is working fine.Test your original monitor with a monitor data cable that you know is working. It's possible that the monitor itself is working properly but it can't receive information from the computer because the cable that connects the monitor to the PC is no longer working.Note: If possible, test using the data cable from the monitor that you successfully tested with in Step 5. If not, purchase a replacement monitor data cable to test with.Note: The data cable on some older monitors are permanently connected to the monitor and are not replaceable. In these cases, you'll have to skip this step and proceed to Step 8 Replace the monitor.

My monitor says "no input signal" every time I put it on. I have checked all the wires and connections and they seem fine. Any suggestions?

Starting from the monitor and going to the video connection to your computer, make sure everything is connected and undamaged. If your video card has more than one output, try switching the cable to the other output. If neither is working, and the monitor works fine from a different computer, then its the video card, otherwise its the monitor. But again, before dropping any money on a new monitor, try a different cable, and try switching the cable to the second output if there is one. A video card is definitely cheaper than a monitor.

No picture on my xtrons d708

Its an installation issue to prevent you watching while driving. The default install requires a wire to be connected to the switch on the handbrake which activates the warning light, this works by supplying an earth when the handbrake is applied if you earth this wire the display will be activated.
