Your lens is not responding as the cameras computer thinks it should, it may have got wet, banged, dirt grit or sand may have got in and is jamming it, unfortunately this will mean the camera is in need of opening up for attention.

Best of luck

Hi!

HI,
press and hold the power\mode button for about 3 to 5 seconds. If the camera is freezing then take out the batteries and take out the memory card and put back only the batteries and check. It should work fine. And if its workin fine without the memory card then replace the memory card.

REGARDS,

Help please

I'm assuming you have a lens error which is giving you the restart message.
It is kind of misleading, but to restart the camera means to power cycle the camera or remove and reinsert the battery.
If you do have a lens error, if restarting the camera doesn't work, you'll need to get the lens fixed if to remove the error.
