Wireless WLAN Good Morning! I keep getting a message box that says: Dell wireless wlan card wireless network controller stopped working and was closed. The message also says that a problem caused the application to stop working. This happened yesterday. I shut the computer down and restarted it. I still get an error message. Can you help?

I have been working with Dell on this problem for quite some time. They tried replacing drivers, uninstalling and re-installing the card, replacing the card with a new one, etc, etc. Nothing worked. Sooner or later the error came back. Their last "fix" was to suggest that I restore the system to factory default condition and start all over again. I refused to do this. I had spent over 8 months adding software, tweaking it and windows, etc. They basically threw up their hands and gave up.

The Dell tech who replaced the card tried the solution noted here and "supposedly" it was fixed. A few weeks later the error came back.

So... I still don't have a fix for this problem.

If anyone finds one please let me know.

I'll check back here periodically.

Thanx,

Randy

Good Day Dell Insiron 1525 Vista Home Basic I keep getting the windows pop-up "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller has stopped working" Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application...

What if you uninstall the wireless network controller driver? I mean without the WLAN driver installed. In fact, this error means there's some drivers outdated issues and needs to be updated. First of all, uninstall the WLAN driver, restart your computer. Check if the problem still persists or not. If so, the problem is not with your wireless driver, could be another driver issue. Update all the hardware drivers, reinstall the latest updated Wireless driver (you will be able to find the latest driver from the Dell Official website, if you need help with this, let me know.). After everything is updated and installed, restart the system and check again.

If the problem persists, could be another problem with registry. Run a registry cleaner and clean the system as well. You can download a free System-Registry cleaner from here (click here). Open the link, click "Download Now", wait for 20 seconds, again click "Download File Now" link, and then save it. Install the program and run the cleaner (close all the running programs while running this program) by clicking the "Run Cleaner", proceed forward, you may also need to wait for few minutes/seconds while it scans the system. Again, click "Registry" on the left pane and click "Scan for issues" on the right (middle), wait for few seconds/minutes until the scanning progress reaches 100%. Click "Fix all selected issues", then "No", "Fix all selected issues" "Ok" and then "Close". Once it's done, restart your computer and check again.

Good luck.

If you need further help, let me know.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Wlan card failure

Hi,
If you are getting the above error message , the same could because of two reasons .1. the wireless card is loose 2. the wireless card has gone bad.

Try re-seating the wireless card and then check. Steps on how to do the same are given below

TRY REINSTALLING THE WLAN DRIVER. OR CHECK THE INTERNAL ANTENA CABLES OF WLAN. IF IT NOT WORKS. THEN THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE IT WITH THE WLAN CARD.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 that has a Microsoft Windows Error message that will not go away even when closed. It says "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller stopped working and was closed"....

Try Deleting the wireless card from Device Manager.

Beware though, if you do this all your wireless settings, such as network names and keys, will probably be deleted as well.

Then right click on the name of your computer and click scan for changes and that will then reinstall the card. Can't say it will help but it's woth a shot.

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.

Did you input the WEP key? I will assume you are using Windows XP. So go to control panel, network connections and then go to the wireless connection and then select view wireless connections double click on the one with the highest strength, which should be your 2wire. When it asks for the network security key type in the numbers that are located on the sticker on the bottom of your router between the [########] brackets.
