Question about Lexmark Z640 InkJet Printer

Printer not working

Power switch blinks and the computer is asking for printer to be installed. The icon for the printer is there. I have misplaced my disk and have ried it on both my desk top and my laptop computers which has the printer installed.

Cant properly install my printer hp 900 on windows xp. it doenst show on add/remove program and device manager bit there is an icon on printer and fax folder

Hi baaycollarin,

  1. Please follow the below procedure for successful installation of your printer :-
  2. Unplug your printer from the power , also remove the USB cable from the computer by which the printer in connected to your computer.
  3. If there is any application software that you have installed with regards to your printer please uninstall it.
  4. After you uninstall the application and you are sure that you don't have any other software related to printer still installed, make sure that you restart your computer.
  5. Once you restart your computer , switch on the printer by plugging it in the power socket and then connect the USB cable to the printer at one end and the computer on the other.
  6. When you plug in the USB cable into your computer , you will find that the computer has detected a new device and then it will ask you to find the appropriate drivers for it.
  7. Then you need to select the option which says ' choose a specific location etc...' then click browse and insert the CD/DVD that came along with the printer in the CD /DVD drive and then find the folder which contains the drivers or just select the CD Rom icon and then let the computer search for the drivers in the CD.
  8. This will make the computer detect the driver which is most appropriate for this device and you will be asked if you are OK with continuing the installation , choose continue.
  9. Lastly when the installation is complete, you will get a pop up at the bottom right of your screen saying that your device has been installed and is now ready to use.

My hp jeskjet 1560 is not working because the green light is blinking when i am on my printer it is continue blinking.pls.... some one help me

Your printer is keeps on blinking maybe because theirs a lot of pending documents pending in queue. Please follow these instructions on how to clear it.
Please check the following before you go and proceed to the troubleshooting:
  • Make sure that the computer is on.
  • Make sure that the USB cable is connected to both device (your printer & computer)
  • Close any open applications on your computer. (Microsoft word, power point excel & etc.,)
Solution #1 Clear the print jobs
  1. Download the "HP print diagnostic utility" click here to download.
  2. After downloading the tool, (print diagnostic utility) save it to your computer.
  3. Run the tool, then select the printer that your using, then start scanning the problems on the printer.
  4. It will tells you if theirs a problem with the connectivity, ports, print jobs stuck in queue and etc.,
  5. If the problem appears, theirs should be a "Fix" button available or "uninstall the driver".
  6. If theirs a fix button, clink on it to fix the issue, now if its telling you to uninstall the driver.
  7. Restart the computer, then if you have to computer boot up and running again. Install the driver for the printer. To get the latest driver that suites to your computer click here.
  8. It will ask you to select your operating system, (win xp, vista or 7) then click on next. Now it will ask you what software do you wish to download, click on "Drivers" then look for "HP Deskjet full feature software and drivers" click on it.
  9. Download the software and save it.
  10. Run the software and install it.

If you have the printer working, you don't need to troubleshoot further. If you are still having problem, continue to the next solution. Solution #2 Power cycle both devices (printer and computer)
  1. Turn off the printer by pressing the power button
  2. Unplug or disconnect the power chord at the back of the printer.
  3. Completely shut down your computer.
  4. Wait for 1min.
  5. Plug the power cable back in to the printer, then turn it on.
  6. Try to print something on your computer. It should be working fine now.

All lamps are blinking. I cannot shutdown the system with the on/off switch

you shouldn`t actually turn off computers whith their power button always just click start or on you windows icon in the bottom left corner then click shutdown

The ink icon light is blinking

  1. Reset your printer if you are having communication problems with the computer. To do so, press the "Power" button to turn off the printer. Wait a few seconds and then power it back on.
  2. Power off the printer again if you are still running into problems and disconnect the power cable from the AC power. Wait a few seconds and reconnect the power cable. Power on the printer. This simple procedure resets the printer back to the default factory settings. Move to the next step if the reset does not work.
  3. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer. Insert the printer software installation CD into the CD-ROM drive on your computer and wait for it to automatically launch. Click the Windows "Start" button if it does not launch and click "My Computer. Right-click the CD-ROM drive with the disk and click "Autoplay to run the CD.
  4. Select "Setup" on the CD and select "Remove HP DeskJet 932c. The printer software and drivers are removed from your computer.
  5. Reconnect the USB cable to the printer. The installation disc automatically recognizes it and begins reinstalling the software and drivers.
  6. Print a test sheet to verify that the printer is now working. You can print a test sheet using a word processing application (e.g. Microsoft Word) or using the Internet.

HP Laserjet 2420 printer says processing job but not printing any thing.

You will have to follow the some steps for it.

  1. Unplug the printer cable from computer.
  2. Delete the pending document from queue.
  3. Delete the printer icon and remove the printer driver completely from add\remove program or using disk.
  4. Restart the computer and download the driver from “”.
  5. For download the driver choose the operating system which you have installed in your computer and download it on the desktop.
  6. Tried to installed the printer driver and when it ask for plug the printer cable , plug the printer cable and turn on the printer power and follow the instruction.
  7. Once when installation get finish, restart the computer.
Now it should be work for you.

Blinking red warning light

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

I misplace my power cord for my printer

If you misplace the power for the printer , you can simply go to a local computer store near you and ask for a power cord for the model number of your printer, printer from kodak almost have the same power cord so it should be esy for you to buy one..

My Canon MP470 printer is giving me an error code 5100. I have misplaced my Canon manual. Please advise.

Try updating your printer drivers:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done
