Question about Canon DM-XM2 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
In programme mode you use the “Exp” button on the front of the camera to adjust the shutter speed and aperture, however when moving the switch up or down it has no effect on either shutter speed and aperture I have tried it in Ap, Tv and full Manuel mode and no effect It would appear that I now have a very expensive point and shoot camera as it only appears to work in the auto setting.

Good luck in your quest, Canon treats their service manuals like they are the holy grail, you have to be a official repair site to buy one, (altho they will sell you the parts), I have tried to find one on the net both legal and illegal for a year now, and they are just not to be had. Just a little after thought, I have a JVC GY-300, pro camera, JVC America gladly sold me a cd for about 15 dollars with service manuals for every camcorder they made that year both pro and amature, so maybe your next pro camcorder should be a JVC,if something goes boing, at least you can get a repair manual.

Yep! Canon Usa has free downloads on their support pages!
Put this in your browser and enter camera information in the pulldown menus.. then look for the download tab.

canon only provide updates for the software - also looking on the support site http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010193.asp - there are also no drivers for windows 7. I would recommend contacting canon in your country and see if you can get an update and what Operating system is supported - its possible that windows7 already has the drivers included ..... Choose country from this link http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/services_locator/index.aspx Note there is an email and telephone tab for details
