Question about Whirlpool Refrigerators

My Whirlpool model DE22RQ or DQ water dispensor does not work. The ice maker is working. I hear a humming sound from the back when the dispensor is pressed but no water comes out.

If the icemaker is working you have water at the inlet. the water line in the freezer door may be frozen.
you will find a coupling near the lower freezer door hinge. disconect that coupling and activate the dispenser. If you have water there the line in the door is frozen.
you can remove that line from the door or just leave the door open for a while.

Checked for a clog in the inlet side of the valve where the water comes in there is a small screen that maybe blocked also check on the back wall of the freezer where the fill tube goes into the units icemaker it could have frozen up due to low water pressure

Whirlpool model # ed5vhexvq1 side by side maker will not dispense ice..water works but it sounds as if there is no power going to icemaker from dispenser

Does the icemaker bucket has ice cubes. If yes then your problem is in the dispensor. If no ice cubes on the icemaker bucket then your problem is with the ice maker unit.

Let say Ice cubes on the ice maker bucket and dispensor makes noise when pressing for ice cubes. Then either your ice dispensor flapper is frozen or may be ice cubes in bucket may have defrost and frozen again sticking together.

Water dispenser maker works fine you can hear motor hum when pressing water dispenser button

You should not hear the noise of a motor unless you are trying to dispense ice. Is that the case your ice dispensor is not working?

Ice maker door does not close all the way and the ice maker switch that releases the ice when press does not work all the time

Sounds like your saying that the ice dispensor flap is not closing completely which will cause frost on the inside shoot and on the ice bucket . Could be because of a broken guide ( clear plastic piece attached to the ice dispensor arm ) . Need brand and model number to help .

I have a GE refridgerator model number GSS25IFRE BB the ice maker and water dispensor just stopped working. The filter is new. and still has the problem with the plug in. Also if you hold a glass in the...

Do you have water getting to the filter? if not:first loosen filter and see if you might have air in line, secondly, the copper or aluminum water line from water supply to solenoid may be limed-up,third loosen line at solenoid and see if your getting water that far, those solenoids pulsate when operated on A.C.current you should hear a hum when activated to get water and that would explain pulsating light at water dispenser

Water Dispensor and Ice Maker Not working

Make sure you have water coming to the water inlet valve and then check to make sure that your water filter is pushed all the way in. Next check your solenoids in the back of your fridge. With the power off take an ohm meter and test across the two terminals and it should not Ohm out or beep. If it does you need to replace the solenoids
