I have a brother mfc 7840w

I first used the electrical tape trick and that worked for a while. Then got the toner low message again. I then tried the *00 trick, which works as follows:

1. lift lid and open front cover
2. press clear/back. "Replace Drum?" will appear on the screen.
3. Press "*00" it will then read accepted and the toner low error (End of Toner Life) should go away.
4. close it all up and your done.

Did you use a re manufactured toner. If so the company may not have changed th chip. In which case the toner is not usable. Also some toners have a plastic strip which must be removed first before using.

The message "Toner Life End" will appear on the display if the toner
cartridge is empty and needs to be replaced or if the toner and drum
unit assembly is not installed properly.

Brother strongly recommends that customers do not use generic drum units
and/or toner cartridges, or refill their Brother toner cartridge. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at pre-set
temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner
formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the
other to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may
affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability.
The Brotherlimited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused
by the useof unauthorized third party drum units, toner cartridges or
toner.

The yield on a genuine Brother TN350 toner is up to approx. 2,500 pages*
The yield on a genuine Brother starter toner (it comes with the machine)
is up to approx. 1,500 pages*
* When printing letter or A4 size paper at 5% print coverage
Much more toner will be used than normal when making copies or prints
with graphics such as web pages.

Note: Toner life expectancy will vary depending upon the type of your
average print job eg, graphics, text, web pages, resolution, contrast
etc. Also, you should wait to unpack a new toner cartridge until
immediately before you install it in the machine. If a toner cartridge
is left unpacked for a long period of time, the toner life is shortened.

1. Verify the toner cartridge is installed correctly by following the
steps listed below:

a. Open the front cover.

b. Lift the drum unit slightly and pull it out. Place the drum unit on a
drop cloth or large piece of disposable paper to avoid spilling and scattering the toner.

c. Remove the toner cartridge from the drum by holding down the lock
lever (blue tab) on the left side of the drum unit and lift the toner
out.
*Handle the toner cartridge carefully. If toner scatters on your hands
or clothes, immediately wash it off with cold water.

d. Gently rock the toner cartridge from side to side five or six times
to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.

e. Place the toner cartridge into the drum (be sure it clicks into
place).

f. Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding
the blue tab on the top of the cartridge from right to left several
times. Return the blue tab to the home position before reinstalling the
drum unit assembly.

g. Reseat the drum unit into the machine.

h. Close the front cover.

2. If the message "Toner Life End" continues to appear on the display,
replace the toner with a new genuine Brother TN350 toner cartridge.

If the Toner Life End message continues to appear on the display after
replacing the toner with a Genuine TN350 Brother toner cartridge,
contact Brother Customer Service at 1-800-284-4329 Monday through
Friday, 9:00am - 7:00pm EST, excluding holidays.

Copies are faded and unreadable when printed or copied at the machine. The toner percentage is showing 25-0% but the machine is not giving a "change toner" message.

Remove the toner cartridge and tap it sharply with one hand whilst holding it with the other. Turn 90 degrees and do it again, repeat until the cartridge is back to being the correct way up.

This will often give you another hundred copies with a cartridge that 'appears' to be empty.

If that doesn't work, you will need to replace the toner,, if that doesn't work, you need a technician or a new machine.

Hello. I am getting a message that my yellow toner cartridge is empty and the printer (Konica Minolta 2300W)refuses to print out anything, even though I got it into the B/W mode. The complete message...

It won't print anything if one cartridge is empty, even black when the colour is empty. Are you using new or refilled cartridges? The cartridge has a chip on top that counts your number of prints, so it could feel full, but has reached it's end counter. Try another cartridge. That should solve your problem

Hi! I am getting a "replace toner yellow" error message. The orange lightning bolt error light is on too. Do I need to replace the yellow toner to print in black and white or is there a different error...

Specifically on the Magicolor 5430DL you can print when a cartridge is empty, but this is disabled by default. To enable printing even with a toner cartridge empty.Press the Menu Button, then press the right button until the ENGINE menu appears and press the select button.Next press the right button until TONER appears and press SelectOnce in the Toner Menu the first option should be "EMPTY" if not press the right button until you see "EMPTY" and press Select. There are two options, the default is "STOP" pressing the right button once should change from STOP to CONTINUE.While the display reads "CONTINUE" press Select. You should see the message "CONTINUE is selected"You can now print even when one or more cartridges are empty. However, the lack of the cartridge's color will be noticed in any print jobs calling for that color... (Obviously)

My toner was low, so I replaced it...it printed one page and now won't copy or print (cannon multipass mp730)

Hello,

If you changed the toner cartridge before the previous one was completely empty, it is possible the machine simply did not reset.

Turn the power off and take the new toner cartridge out. Turn the power back on and wait for a message telling you there is no toner.
When you get the no toner message re-insert the new toner cartridge.

If this does not clear the message, you will need to find the button to press to manually reset the toner cartridge from Canon.

Thanks,

Pat

unfortunately the drum within the cartridge has reached end of life so changing to a new drum cartridge would resolve this issue.

it is a typical new problem for samsung printers. you have to reset the printer. it is a pretty tricky thing to reset this type of printers because you can "blow" it up. try find a local workshop, or a specialized person to do this

Change k toner error message

If you want to use the toner cartridge after the printer decides that it's empty, you can do it by going into the Machine Settings in the menu, and option 8 (at least on my Magicolor 2590MF) says "Toner empty stop?". Just change that to NO, and you're set to go.

Illegal toner

Sorry, this sounds outside my experience.  The only trigger for the 'illegal toner' message that I know is that the cartridge has the wrong plug on it.  A 'proper' Brother cartridge will have the same plug as the rest and be very easy to check.
I have both refilled empty cartridges and used commercially refilled ones. As I said, the only time I have seen this message was with the wrong plug.  When I used non-spec toner I got 'ghosting' as the toner stayed too long on the transfer belt.  No error message, just poor quality printing.
OPC belts appear to need changing fairly often - I am on my third.  Take it out and have a look (note that it is light sensitive, do it quickly in dim light).  If it is not a clear shiny green it may not be up to spec.  As a quick fix you can reset the 'replace OPC belt' message, but they do wear out.  It is used to transfer toner from the cartridge to the paper - so failure means poor quality printing rather than a refusal to print.
Sorry I cannot help further.
