Fridge portion of fridge/freezer icing up - Fisher and Paykel Refrigerators

Hi,

Please ensure that the fridge door is completely closed when you attempt to shut it. Please check from any leaks from the freezer portion of the fridge to the non-freezer portion. Try to temporarily lower the freezer temperature by 20 degrees and check what affects it has on the non-freezer portion.

check for your freezer fan running properly
then check to make sure you have air flow into the freezer this model has a habit of freezing ice in the air channels

Hi, The defrost drain behind the rear freezer panel is plugged. Remove the rear panel and clear the ice away from the drain. Then you will need to flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is open.
Some models require an after market drain heat kit.
Please get me your model # and I can look this up to let you know if you need that heat kit.

Probably excessive ice in the condensor. Likely defrost thermostat or defrost heater problem.

What happens is excessive ice keeps airflow from the refrigerator part of the unit.

try checking the fan in the freezer at the top which pushes the coldness over to the freezer

first thing to try is to turn of the fridge and let all the ice thaw out, could be the vent that moves air to the refrig portion from the freezer is blocked by ice

I would check that fan motor in the freezer section is running. it distributes cold air from freezer into refrig section also if this motor is running the top portion of freezer will not get cold enough to allow ice production. the motor is easy to repl and is mod# specific you should be able to buy one online.
