No power The Plasma TV was working fine last night. We turned it off normal and this morning did not have power at all. I try different outlets but no solution. Any idea what is the problem?

The make and model is Hitachi 42PD7800. I checked the fuse and the power board but neither one is the problem. Is no voltage reading at all in the TV. It is power on the wall outlet but that is all.

Hi, My 42PD7800 Plasma experienced a power surge when the mains plug was bumped causing intermittant circuit from the mains supply. The unit was on at the time. I have checked the 6.3amp fuse which is blown but replacing the fuse did not rectify the fault. I can see no obvious issues with the Power Filter board.

    Hope you can help.

my problem is no power at all at the plasma, when you switch the power on you can hear the surge, then nothing, no stand by light no nothing!

First off I did not see make or model. When plasmas die you have failure in either the power supply of the sustain boards. Do you have any voltage readings from va or vs ?

Check fuse on powerboard. Look for bulged capacitors on power board. Might have a screw in fuse access on the rear panel.

My set is plugged into a cable box. the tv will not turn on either manually or with the remote.

Plug the power cord directly into a wall power outlet, and make sure that the standby light is lit (turn it on/off manually to see if anything changes). If there isn't any light, then it's most likely broken.
If the TV works again, being plugged into the power outlet in the wall, then the problem is with the cable box (i bet you figured that out too).

Sanyo plasma # 42840 will not turn on. swaped boards & it still does not work

Which board did you swap? I would first suspect the SC and SS boards first (or the x and y sustain boards) different termanology for different brands it seems. I would try the x main first. The easiest thing to do is unplug the power from the x main and then plug in the power cord, if it starts up, (you still wont get a picture but wont click.) you know its that board, if same result, try the y main.

Won't power on...

The TV probably has an internal short, most likely in the power supply. If you open it, you will probably find the main fuse is blown (which is why it didn't trip the breaker again. Don't bother replacing the fuse until you find and fix the short - you'll just blow the new fuse and probably trip the breaker again.

Sylvania 6632LG won't turn on.

The power supply may have gone out, that is the first place to look, look for blown fuse, burnt parts, bad capacitors.

Tv wont turn on worked fine last night

If there is no power at all, then the problem is likely the power supply unit.
The PSU must be tested, then eventually replaced.
