Question about Goodman CKL36AR36 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

No cooling I received a call from my tenant that they have no ac. When i get my inspection of the unit to find an extremely durty air filter, which i replaced. Also i cleaned the a coil which was also full with dust. So i figured the time it took me to to do all that cleaning that the unit had time to reset it self. Long story short i still have no cooling at all still. through the first sequence of operation every thing seems ok . dtill no cooling

"You forgot the "first rule , check to see if everythings is working! If the filter was dirty , then you skipped the second line of defense to prevent dust from going into the vents is the squirrell cage blades. Air flows thru the filter first,,,2ond, thru the squirrell cage...& 3rd thru the coils last. Make sure the outside is working fine.

Why does the aircon cant stay on

Most modern air conditioners are designed to offer up to 10 to 20 years of reliable use. However, even the most reliable of air conditioners may stop cooling or suffer from problems from time to time. Remember that one of the best ways to prevent unexpected A/C problems is to have regular maintenance performed on your unit. If you cannot perform the maintenance yourself, hire a professional to do so. Spending money on maintenance now can save you from big repair bills in the future.
Some of the most common AC problems are listed below, and they may even be the reason why your air conditioning unit won't kick on. Review this information so that you know how to best troubleshoot problems with your unit. Be sure to determine whether your unit has shut down entirely or whether only a part of your unit has shut down or isn't working. Remember that it is always necessary to cut power off to your unit before inspecting it for wiring-related problems.
  • The AC unit does not cool rooms evenly: Inspect your unit's distribution channels. Make sure that the fan on your unit is kicking air into rooms or into your duct system.
  • The AC unit turns on but doesn't cool: If your unit turns on but doesn't cool, check your thermostat to be sure that it is set at the correct temperature. You should then check the condenser and evaporator for dirt and clogging. If too much dirt builds up, your unit may not turn on at all.
  • The condenser unit returns on and off repeatedly: Having a unit turn on and off repeatedly is extremely frustrating. In general, this problem is caused either by a dirty condenser and fan or a clogged condenser.
  • The condenser unit won't turn on: If your condenser unit won't turn on at all, you may have a faulty motor or the unit may not be receiving power. Examine all wiring and ensure that the unit is plugged in.

Previous tenant left ac window unit Haier HWF05XC5, but took the remote. Can I manually turn on this ac unit? when turning the power button, only the fan turns on, I'm unable to switch to AC

According to the Model Number you listed, it's a Mechanically or Manually Controlled AC unit. There is no remote control for it.Please be certain the Model Number you listed is correct and get back to me.

If it's the correct model number and it's manually controlled. You should have 2 rocker switches. One is to turn the power ON & Off. The other is to set the Fan Speed either on Low or High. Then there is a dial, numbered 1 to 10 to set the cooling level. 1 is min cool and 10 is Max Cool.

If the controls on your unit match what I described above, it's a manually controlled unit. No remote.

I hope this helped you. Please advise. Thanks.

Unit ices up and quits cooling

There are a couple of things that contribute to the problem you're experiencing:

1. A dirty or clogged air intake filter. Turn unit OFF, remove and clean the filter. If filter is washable
be sure filter is thoroughly dry, before reinstaling it.

2. Cooling fins are dirty. Turn unit OFF, remove the outer shell of the AC unit, if necessary and
clean the fins with an old toothbrush and a vacuum cleaner.

3. Humidity level in your area is extremely high. This is Mother Nature's problem and is not readily
solvable.

4. Defrost sensor is not functioning properly. Replace sensor.

5.. Low refrigerant gas in the AC's compressor. Have compressor recharged.

Hope this helps you trouble shoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

AC was cooling fine. Now, won't cool room even though cool air comes out. Exhaust hose is extremely hot.

Check filter, if you have a 5000BTU unit (small) and it is extremely hot, then it wont work great for a big room. BTU is the rate of what the AC will put out. 5000 BTU is good for a small single room. 10,000 will cool a bigger room and 18,000 btu is meant to cool a home.

Compressor is kicking in but isn't cooling

This problem is related to partial durty in the filter. you can't do that by your self. If you are a technician , :
1. recover the freon,
2. remove the filter;
3. replace by a new one;
4. vacuum the system;
5. charge the freon .

Central AC unit not cooling

If you have access to your piping system you may use a soap bubbles to test the pipe connection. the leak gas will blow the bubbles if there is leaking. But if your system is out off freon gas, you can not use this method. just try it check the connection first put the bubbles around it.

What is required in the service of a 3.0l subaru liberty at 100000kms?

your owners manual will tell you exactly. usually all filters should be changed (oil, air, auto transmission if equipped, fuel, cabin air etc) as well as spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor if equipped, check the belts and hoses as well as the charging system. All fluid levels should be checked and topped off. Check your tire p.s.i. as well.
