Question about Dimplex DS5598 Mid-Size Heater
Hi there, recently moved into a new flat that has a Dimplex XL night storer heater. it's on the wall, turned on and ready to go, but how do we get a descent heat out of it? there's two dials. imput (1-9) and a boost (early-late-none) it's 5.30pm and my family are getting pretty cold, it's been turned on for a few days now and we've had a hit and miss success rate with it so far.
thanks for your help.
Are you setting the input to maximum and the boost to late? You do not say what size the heater is in either kilowatts or kilowatt hours eg 2kW or 18kWh. These heaters will tend run out of stored heat in the evening especially in colder weather.

You say the heater is 'old', so I assume that it's out of its 2 year warranty? Are you referring to the wall-switch or the switch on the heater itself?
The customer service department will be able to give you guidance on finding the problem and resolving it. If you call 0845 600 5111 and have your series number (top left of the unit) and model (CXL) to hand they will be able to help you.
P.S. Please don't try to take the heater apart or remove it from the wall unless you have experience in working on storage heaters, as the unit is VERY heavy!
