Escort 2000 power problems

our escort 2000 has not been in use for a couple months. when we tried to power it up there was nothing.am assuming the fuseis blown or something simple as that. what we dont know is how doyou check and/or change the fuse? also says on the back that it has a thermal protection circiut. what is that and how is it reset?

i have paid for the assistance and all i got back was change the fuse! I have changed the fuse and still nothing. i got no answer about the thermal protection circuit. and evidently now they want me to pay for another assistance plan when they have not solved it with the fuse thing. must say this does not please me...
