Rolling picture I have model VS-50705, the sound is perfect, the picture stared rolling from top to bottom. at first the tv would work fine after it has warmed up, but now it has gotten worse, it only slow down after warming up. still have lines rolling up and down the tv. What needs to be replaced to fix this? Is it relatively cheap? Can I do it myself?

    Thanks for the advise, I have been looking around the signal board and where the capacitors you told me to change I cant see any leakage. However there is some leakage around the Antenna input connection. I took the box ( antenna input box) off and there is a really sticky, clear liquid that is rather thick on the bottom side of the little box and on to the board. Could this be the problem? I tlooks that the liquid came from this somewhere but I cannnot find the source of it by looking. Please advise, thank you very much!

Try replaceing capacitors C2C52 10uf 50V capacitor and also C2P05 100uf 16V capacitor. these are both on the signal board. It that doesnt correct the issue replace IC2P01 which is the 9volt regulator also located on the signal board. That should take care of your problem

    That model is famous for the CRTs leaking. When you look inside the set from the rear look at the borad on the far right side where the power cord plugs in and then if you look on the left hand side a little over half way you will see a small aluminum heat sink with the vertical output IC attached to it. Look around that Ic for the evidence of sticky material as well. If that liquid is from the CRT and thats highly possible it will destroy all the solder connections in the area where its at unless its cleaned good and the components resolderd. Thats no doubt what your problem is.

Start up problem

Bill;

Cause 1
1. VERTICAL ROLLING, VERTICAL BLANKING BAR LOCKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PICTURE, ALSO MAY HAVE HORIZONTAL PULLING OR TEARING. CHECK C2C52 10 UFD @ 50 V OFF THE BASE OF Q2C51 ON THE SIGNAL PCB.

2. CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.
Replace all these if they look bad or not. If you can't do it yourself call a service Company and get an estimate, it should cost about $450 if they know what they are doing.
Thanks using FixYa, Big Irish.

Picture rolling when I first turn on my tv

A rolling picture or loss of vertical sync can be caused by several components including a bad signal board or jack panel assy. You will not be able to resolve this yourself. contact a Mitsubishi authorized service center.

Video tapes played through VCR experience vertical 'rolling'

unfortunatly no. the vert hold is set by black bars at the top/bottom of the video signal (outside of the viewable area). it sounds like your VCR or tape is damaged.

Good Day, tree64;
More than likely the convergence problem the TV has wont be resolved by adjustments. In your situation, moving TV, the problem most likely is poor solder connections on the convergence IC's. They are large devices attached to very large heat-sinks, and have numbers on the IC'c like STK 392-560.
If no poor connections....replce.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

Rear project TV problem

yes it can be fixed depending on your model number if its the VS50605 they have a kit to repair the PIP module which controls vertical sync (Rolling) or you can bypass the module to correct it but you would lose the PIP function. Let me know if you need more info.

No Blue. Horizontal Lines.

Not to me, but it also depends on if you could do this yourself or not. And the area you are in sometimes is responsible for the cost being high.
