Question about Ovens

1 Answer

I have a Franke wall oven. I am guessing someone has tried to force the timer to the off position but it just stays where it is set to.

Are you wanting to replace the timer?

I would not know if it is broken without looking at it. If it is stuck then I would say it is. But really can't tell without seeing it to troubleshoot. Do you still have the manuals that came with the oven? If so, call the customer service and they will direct you where to get the replacement. If not, call your local appliance repair in the yellow pages to get the timer. It can be replaced. So call someone local and you can just go pick up the part.

(90s) Jenn-air single wall oven locked

The timer may think it is still in clean. The easiest way to try and fix this is to set another clean cycle and let it run all the way. Set it for the least amount of time that it will let you for example try a 15 minute clean cycle. Once it goes through it and turns off automatically it may release the lock, if not you will most likely need someone from service out.

I hope this helps

I have a 40 year old Tappan electric wall oven. It has an analog clock with 3 timers on it (2 small timer...stop and start and a large timer with 3 hands on it). Which position do the timers need to be for...

I have one of these too. the TOP small clock should be set to the time you want the oven to start and the BOTTOM small clock should be set to the time you want it to turn off. Be sure to set the oven settings to what you want and the correct temperature.

Try testing it first just to see if it works correctly. It's also important to make sure the other large clock on the oven is set correctly.

My oven stays on, only way to shut off it to shut breaker

Do you mean it continues to heat, or the indicator "says" it's on ? These wall ovens have notorious problems with the erc (clock/timer) could be a relay stuck in the closed position. trip the breaker, pull out the erc and visually inspect it, or if you're really inclined check to see if the relay "cycles" (clicking on & off/open & closed) through out operating.

Chef classic wall oven with digital clock change time?

Press the TIMER button (the leftmost one with a little bell icon) and the "cooking" button (the one next to it with a "hot saucepan" icon) briefly at the same time. Within four seconds start changing the time with the + or - buttons. When you have the correct time just leave it and it will leave time setting mode four seconds after the last button press.
