I have not used my machine PFAF 875 hobbymatic in over 10 years. It has been in storage. No repairmen around my area. How can I ensure that it is ready to sew? It is running but it is slow

Hello, Angie -

First, give your sewinig machine a thorough cleaning and oiling (light touch of oil in the hook raceway, only), following instructions in your PFAF 875 Hobbymatic user's manual.

If you do not have the manual, you can find it here to download:
http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Pfaff_874_875_876_HobbyMATIC_Extra-manual-EN-DE-FR-IT.PDF

If the machine still seems to run slowly, then I suggest you look for a nearby business which sells Pfaff machines and ask where you can have your machine serviced.

If there is no business in your area which sells Pfaff machines, perhaps you can find a generic sewing machine repair business near you.

If you have not contacted the Pfaff company regarding service for your machine, this is the link to the Pfaff Machine Support page:

Best wishes.

How to replace power foot pedal cord pfaff 2027 sewing machine

under the anti-slip strip there are screws to be eased off and the pivoting shaft can be pushed out. The difficult task is to re-assemble - the contact wiper is springy and is hard to keep away from the small resistor strip when closing the top. Not recommended for DIY.

Where do you oil the PFAFF Synchrotronic 1229?

1229 or majority of PFAFF's needs to be oiled in the bobbin cage and nowhere else.If you start oling the gears lint will build up and slow your machine down. So only apply a few drops where where the bobbin is attached to.
