I recieved a Powerware 9120 1000 with no batteries. It appears all three batteries attach in series. Is this the case? Thanks! Russ

Batteries are connected in series on your PW9120-1000. Connect the battery farthest from the end that faces the front display of the UPS with the incoming red wire to the red terminal on that battery. Connect the short cable from the black terminal on that battery to the red terminal on the next battery (these batteries will face each other, but one set of terminals will be at the top and the other set will be at the bottom). Connect the longer wire from the black terminal of the second battery to the red terminal of the last battery (which will face opposite the 2nd battery). The black terminal on the last battery will connect to the thick black wiring coming in from the rear of the battery case.

The only batteries for the PW9120 that I will use are the PowerSonic PS-1290 F2, rated at 9.0 Amp. Hr. These will fit and the 9.0 amphr rating is the only one that will match the original battery life.

Hi, here is the Eaton page (Eaton acquired Powerware about 5 years ago) with the user manual for the 9120. It doesn't make sense for a 1000 9120 to not have batteries: http://powerquality.eaton.com/EMEA/Products-services/Legacy/Legacy-Products.asp. Also, here is the form to ask for help on this product: http://tools.mgeops.com/form/support/index_hard.php. I'm assuming that you're probably not in the United States so this is the UK-based form.

Remove the front panel plastic cover where the batteries are located, then plug the two connectors together, restart the UPS, and it should be fine.

Alarm #191 open cell voltage powerware 9130

Alarm error #191 comes from a battery test, where batteries are put under load for 25 seconds. (If the alarm is unexpected, you might have enabled the periodic 30-day battery test.)

#191 is test failure for battery internal resistance. So, need to locate and replace the bad battery, then run the battery test manually. If batteries are good, make sure no battery connector is corroded or loose.

The charger in powerware 9 series 9120 6000i ,the fan is of a quality that it fails and the heat sink does not get sufficient cooling ,it runs on 12 volt ,i replaced it with a cpu fan from a mainboard on a pc and it works perfectly now. make sure that the fan is running else the charger might go in protection or can fail due to the transistor on heat sink fails.

Hello, my Powerware 3105 beeps 3 times every 30 seconds or so. I think the battery is not working anymore because when I unplug the power source everything connected turns off. Can you confirm bad battery...

Your problem is showing up under the Powerware 9305 (a very large UPS) but your comments are about the 3105. It sounds like your battery is dead. If your UPS is over 3-5 years old, that's most likely the case. The website address to view the user manual is www.eaton.com/3105 You can contact Eaton directly, too. Eaton bought Powerware about 6 years ago. Here's the contact info. Be sure to have your serial and model numbers ready from the rating label on your UPS.
