Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
What started my problem was I was printing a document and the cartridge replacement popped up on my screen and the printing stopped. I opened the the printer up to replace the cartridge and then realized I didn't have another cartridge. So, I killed the print job then I unplugged the printer. When I opened the printer again there was a barrier up infront of the printer cartridges it has a white label it two pictures on it both look like dials one has like an arrow pointing at the 12 position and the other is looks like a sun with lines radiating from around the dial. You can move the cartridges or move this barrier.
I have tried unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in with nothing changing. I have tried uninstalling the software and trying to reinstall it but it can't find the printer. If I push the ON button nothing happens. Same thing when I push the SETUP or the CANCEL button. The only thing I notice when I push the SETUP button is the screen on the printer goes blank and then comes back on with the bar at the bottom moving.
The printer before it stopped working was attached wireless. I have since tried attaching it by USB and still no connection.
I ever tried the semi hard reset and that doesn't seem to do anything at all. Unplugging the power and pressing the # and 6 keys and then plugging the power cord back in. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
The hard Reset is # and 9.

Turn the printer upside down right underneath where the cartridge station is you will find a small white gear...sometime it may be covered with a blue rubber cover.
when you turn the gear ..the barrier in front of the cartridge will go down.
Then do a rest on the printer and then install it.
