Samsung S600 was not working - Switch on - 3 beeps - Switched off again.

I noticed the Lens was not fully retracted and was able to wobble it with my fingers and ease it out a little - Switched the camera back on and it works fine - It may have received a knock on the lens after the battery went flat and not fully retracted - I use 2 x NiMh 2500 rechargeable batteries which last a fair while.

I had the same problem with the samsung s630 with the lens stuck open, I would turn on the camera and then it would beep 3 times then automatically turn it's self off. I tried using new batteries and chargeable batteries nothing was working and the lens was stuck causing the camera to shut down. I tried to twist the lens to get it unstuck, eventually it did get unstuck and now the camera is working fine.

My camera is saying lens error and it wont open the lens

Try one of these two fixes, if they dont work for you follow the link below for further troubleshooting.

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Fix #1: Remove the batteries from the camera, wait a few minutes. Put a fresh set of batteries back in (preferably rechargeable NiMH 2500mah or better) and turn the camera on. If that didn't work, try pressing and holding the Function or OK button while turning the camera on.
Fix #2: If the camera's batteries ran down completely while the its lens was still open, the camera may show a lens error or not start properly when new batteries are installed. Remove the memory card and keep it removed, then install the new batteries. When you turn the camera on with the card removed it may come back to life, as this triggers a reset in some cameras. Error E30 (for older Canon's) means that you don't have a memory card installed, so turn it off, slip in the SD card and turn it on one last time

Error message: "Lens error, restart camera" unable to get it to work Have powered on & off several times. Also removed batteries and powered on several times all to no avail.

There are 2 fixes I know for this you can try.

My camera's lens is stuck open.

Double check you put in the batteries in the correct direction. This has happened to me before and usually when new batteries are put in, just push the on/off button again and it will close lens and go back to off position.

When i turn my camera on, it says lens error. how do i fix that?

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... There are several things that you can do to try to correct it. These home fixes seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors. If the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try. E10 and s45 same problem

the batteries needed for the cameras are quite high powered

though the batteries show that they are fuly charged most times they have lost their actual capacity of power storage in them so not being able to supply enough to start the camera best way to test this is to start the camera on preview mode if this works then you will need to buy a new set of rechargable batteries, i would suggest to take batteries in the range of 2000MAh to 2500MAh and

the normal batteries will not be able to sustain long even for normal lens open and retract functions, instead of normal batteries try LR6 varieties (eg: Duracell, Energizer, etc)

Lens cover error

TIPS:
1.)NEVER PUSH THE LENS IN AFTER CAMERA DIES, BUY A NEW BATTERY IMMEDIATLY AND TURN IT BACK ON, CLOSING THE LENS!

2.)NEVER USE AN AC ADAPTER, USE A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY OR A REGULAR BATTERY!

..to fix this...

Do as i say..

1.) Remove battery
2.) Remove front plate (screw driver may be needed)
3.) Check all gears, make sure they are correctly fitted in place)
4.) Move the gear manually to make the lens come out.
5.) keep it out, put the front plate back together.
6.) reinsert the battery, turn it on.

or...
1.) Remove the battery.
2.) Wait about 6-8 hours.
3.) Reinsert the battery.

or...
1.) Remove the battery.
2.) Try hooking it up through AC adapter, put correct voltage.
3.) Try turning it on.
4.) Remove AC adapter, reinsert battery.
5.) Turn it on.

Hope this may help;
