SOURCE: jvc car cd/radio

The radio was improperly installed; there are two 12V leads, one services the radio when on, the other, only the circuitry for the clock and presets.
Eventually, this shouldn't be needed if the manufacturers ever think about using a little bit of flash memory for the presets and a coin cell for the clock.

You didn't give any model number so researching the manual is impossible.
If you can find the model number, look for a user's (or installation) guide on line to find the wiring info.

SOURCE: turns on then off right away

Hello headbanger42,

First I'd check all of the wiring and connections. Make sure that there's no bare wires, no cut or frayed insulation and no wires contacting metal on the vehicle or other wires.

If everything is connected properly and there's no shorts, press the reset button on the panel holder using a ball-point pen after detaching the control panel. (The clock setting and preset stations stored in memory will be .)

If that does not work, there's most likely an internal fault and the receiver needs service.

Hope this helps.

2 cd's in cd player

get a medium to large paperclip and make a really short 90 degree bend in the end of it with pliers so it looks like this _________' <make this really short Insert this at bottom of the cd opening angled toward the top of the player. When you think you are about over the hole of the cd, push down and pull toward you gently...if you persist at this you will get the edge of the cd that's not engaged to stick out of the front of the player enough to grab it. It'll take some patience so keep at it and you will get it done. Hope this helps you!

Converting dc to ac

You need a DC power supply of at least 8 amps (20 would be better). Try MCM: http://www.mcminone.com/product.asp?product_id=28-8945&catalog_name=MCMProducts
