What is the best way to store the new ryobi 18v battery

Is your ryobi 18V battery is a Li-ion battery? if so you can store it with 40% power and keep it clean, cool, and dry. Then every 1-2 month to charge and discharge the battery for once time.

Why does ryobi 18V cordless not charge

Please check the LED status of your charger. If both of the charger'sLED flashing, but it can charge a good battery. Than the battery is defective, you may replace a new Ryobi P206 Battery http://www.batteryshops.co.uk/tags_products/ryobi-p206-12-18v-2-speed-drill-driver-battery_6854.html

My ryobi 14.4 v cordless, when i put the battery in the charger the yellow and green light both stay on and does not charge. this happens with both chargers and battery packs

If i have this striaght two chargers and the green and yellow lights are on and the batterys will not charge and there 14.4v batterys correct . Then the batterys must be no good unless bolth chargers are bad and have the same problem witch is exterimly unlikely. most likely the batterys and are NG.They don't do well if left in cold condutions or hot for that matter but cold is worse . 14.4 V is is an unasul size and if its not a lithuim ion battery its going to be obisilete and unavaible soon if not already . Ihad the same problem with my RYOBI 7.2 volt can't get the batterys for under a 100 dollars thats one and a speical order i paid 39 dollars for the gun and 2 batterys . They make the money off resale on batterys . And you can do far better then RYOBI for a screw gun now a days

I have a Delta 18v charger model# CL180C. The unit gous on but does not charge the battery. I can not get the battery to stay on the yellow/red charging function. Any suggestions? Thank you Joe D.

If the charger doesn't read the battery and tell whether it is good or not, then the charger is probably at fault. It has a date code or a date stamped on it, if it is 2 years old or older, trash it. If it is less than that, take it back where you bought it, if they don't replace it, buy a Ryobi, all tools guaranteed for 2 years, all batteries, chargers, saws, everything they make, I don't buy anything but Ryobi, and we have a lot of tools. My whole truck is full of cordless tools. You can look up the code numbers on line, and check out the warranty.

Wont charge

One thing I have found with the ryobi 18V batteries in particular, and cordless tool batteries in general, is that if the battery is completely dead, the charger simply will not recognize it. This is referred to as a "threshold level" by some manufacturers. One solution that has worked well for me in the past is to take a battery that is known to be good and has a charge and use small jumpers to hook it to the problem battery, terminal for terminal, for about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, much like jumpstarting a car. Then place the problem battery back in the charger and more often then not, it will take a full charge. Wear safety glasses any time you're messing around with batteries, because although the risk of explosion is minimal, it is still a risk.

Battery charges but is dead

The battery isn't any good. The charger is just going through it's regular steps. (I know how it is. I just bought two Ryobi 18 volt batteries for my Ryobi cordless drill, reciprocating saw, flashlight,
trim circular saw, combo set. $60 for two batteries)

Ryobi lithium batteries won't take charge

For others with the same problem (flashing red light won't go off)...make sure you FIRMLY PUSH the battery down onto the charger and engage the latches. Simply resting the battery on the charger will not work.
