You can't set a recorded voice to set as ringtone.
You can't set a song as a message tone. The only tones you can send in a message are from your sounds. Sounds are a special format, just as pic, music, ringtones etc.
You can record your own sounds, but unfortunately they come out fuzzy and don't sound real good.
You want to make ringtones and sounds for your phone follow this below:
You will need
1. Phone with usb cable

Computer3. Bitpim

Next page--Downloads (the first download) choose your
operating system(do not download BitPim Test Release 1.0.6 04 Mar 2008)
Once downloaded, open it, hook up your phone
It should recognize it. At the bottom of the Bitpim page you will see a green circle--Ready and a green circle---name of your phone and that it is detected.
Now, click on Sounds
Go to the top of the page and clilck the blue music note with the green plus sign.
Find the music you want to make into a sound
Click on it
Click open
An Convert Audio Box will come up
Follow these directions:
Channels (Mono/Stero) click arrow change to 1
Click convert
You will see DOS boxes come up when they are done under crop you will see "Clip Duration" with numbers in the box next to it. Ajust the pink and red arrows to the part of the song you want as your sound. The pink shows the beginning of the song and the red where the song will stop. Then drag the little arrow to the pink arrow. Click play position. You will hear your song, you can adjust from there what you want played.
Once you have set your sound, click "OK"
You may get a prompt that it may be too large, click ok
Now it will show in your sounds
Go to the Second phone at the top with the arrow pointing to the right click on it----a box will appear check ringtone. Click "OK"
Box will go away, the sound will start transferring to your phone.
You will see at the bottom of the page the green circle--Ready
turn Red and it says busy.
When done your phone will reboot go to Music and Tones, sounds and the song should be in your sounds.
Do the same thing for ringtones.
My phone is so full I have to keep deleting some of them.
These are in your phone not on your SD card, phones only have so much
memory.

I have same problem! All of my ringtones show a little red lock next to them - even the standard ringtones that come on the phone! The vibrate works - but no sound. Please help!!!
A little red lock icon just showed up on my Krazer next to ALL ringtones mp3's also and now there is no sound. Anyone know a fix?
me 2 i have locks on everything and no sound works
verizon is a piece of **** doin this on purpose..i took mine in, and they acted like they never heard of the red lock..and suggested i buy a new one!! RIP OFFS
