Put in service mode, type 55, then hold reset down while toggling 9 to cut on or off.
Should say free play on display.

SOURCE: how do I set my Rowe CD jukeox to free play mode
Hi,
You need to put the service switch into service.
The display will now say "Service Mode"
Check out your manual for operation.
Within service mode you go to item 6 in the list "Options"
In options pick number 9 "More Options"
In more options pick number 1 for Free Play.

SOURCE: my rowe ami cd100 plays but there is no bass only
Hi Tony,
More than likely it will be an amplifier problem, but check that the phono leads from the mechanism decoder are ok and that there are not any dry joints (cold joints in the USA) on the phono connections on the decoder.
Check that the amplifier does not have any dry joints on the connections between the input and output stages on the amplifier.
If you are in the USA and need a repair send your amplifier to Bruce Wentworth (check for his details on Google) in the uk you could send me your amp for repair.

SOURCE: I have an 1991 ami rowe juke box -laserstar
I operate rowe cd 100 jukeboxes for a living, In the manual it will tell you what these error codes are, off the top of my head I know that one to mean either there is a problem with the inner or outter cam switch. these switches are located under what we call the transfer motor, there will be two of them look in your manual to see whether the error relates to the inner or outter cam switch. Inner being the one closest to the actual mechanism and outter being the one furthest from the mechanism. The switches are usually black but can be white and are about the size of an block ink/pencil eraser. You most likely can get the switch from a local electronics store I.E. radio shack.

Is it the full size jukebox or wall mounted?
Yes it is a wall mount unit, with i think a Mars cashflow coin mech. Not sure what the central computer (cc) number is.....
ok I have found a place where i can view the manuals for the mars cashflow. I have a wurlitzer wall unit as well as 4 Rock-ola's and an NSM that are giving me some key grief ..However, in most cases, the free play is a switch in the coin mechanism. If you can provide me with the model number if the mars cashflow .. I can certainly review this further. I have been scouring my manuals but I do not have much on the AMI/Rowe systems otherwise I would be able to further assist you.
Thanks for all your help CajunKitty. Much appreciated. Hope you will excuse me, but I am not very used to "forum" set-ups. Anyways, friend of mine has found a pdf file somewhere on the internet, which is the Rowe manual covering programming of this model. Problem solved. Thanks again, speak with you again maybe.
