Replace the batteries in the guitar. As they near the end of life they will collapse and then recover some if the load is removed for an hour. Also, check the amp is not the problem... often times they have a heat sensor that backs them down till they cool off. Hve another guitar to immediately try with the amp.

How to adjust the pickup on a bass guitiar

It's a balancing act between volume and string pull. Generally I raise the treble pickup as close to the strings as possible without the strings hitting it while playing hard. Then play sustained notes and see if the pitch wavers from magnet pull. If so, lower the pickup a bit until the waver stops. Then ring up the bass pickup until the output matches the treble pickup. If that doesn't cause waver, your set. If it does, lower the bass pickup until it stops.

Electronic circuit diagram for a bass collection bass guitar Japanese 1988

I understand your pain - was googling for similar, and came across this post, 5 years prior. My SGC Nanyo Bass Collection has just started to play silly beggars with the pots, and a bridge fault. Nowhere online seemed to have any details of the wiring, as the problem is, as you say, the fact that all of the tone and volume pots are based on a printed circuit board. If theres a nick or short on the board, its a pig to replace, and I really wouldn't like to have to wire any pots onto it. I'm currently looking at the options of ripping out the old electrics and wiring it from scratch myself. If you're still after answers, good luck!

PS - noted that none of the previous replies are relevant to this - mostly going on about the amps or a Fender guitar??!

This bass squels if you have a bass head and cabinet. i had a 100W amp and it played fine then upgraded to a head/cab. tryed playing it with loud volume, squels. anyway to fix this?

Turn down the treble gain and mid gain... you don't need it for a bass. Prevent the guitar from "hearing" the output of the amp directly. The guitar strings make a good microphone.

When I recieved my BC Rich Virgo celtic bass there was no problem. I played with it for almost an hour. Later I wanted to play another time so plugged it in. No sound came from my bass. I tried to replace...

Intermittent problems can lead one on a merry chase. The first suspect would be the guitar cable.

Players learn to check the connection to the amp is good by touching the tip of the cable and observe you get hum.

It is UNLIKELY to get two bad guitars so we need to check everything else. Cable is next suspect.

Check the cable IS for intruments and NOT speakers. Check that the tips do not spin. Some cables become worn and the sleeves no longer actuate the switch that turns the battery in the guitar on or the tip fails to make contact. Do not use cables that are intended to connect stereo systems. Use ONLY instrument rated cables.

After about 30 minutes of playing i get a drop in bass power a drop in volume also a destorted sound occures during that period i tried changing the battery i still get the same problem i have a schecter...

Have you checked that it is not the amp that is the problem? This is a fairly common thing to have the amp heat up and the thermal protection shut it down partly. Since the bass drops, a loose connection or bad guitar cable can cause that. If the signal becomes capacitively coupled only the treble will come through and be very distorted. Try a new cable. For the guitar, open the electronics area and look for loose or broken wire.

HI THERE. I VE BEEN CHANGE MY SHECTER'S STRINGS, BUT I DONT KNOW WHY THEY´RE TOUCHING THE HUMBUKERS AND SOUND BADLY. WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?

Try adjusting the pickup height lower and playing your guitar. If your action is set right and it plays fine then adjust the pickups for the sound you want. You may have inadvertently changed string guages. 9v battery wires came loose. peavey 5 string bass

The negative battery terminal will go to a black wire and that will be soldered to one of the volume control cases. That makes the remaining wire easy. The negative terminal pole on the battery is the larger round one.
