Moultrie i40 digital game camera will not flash

run diagnostic test and cover sensors with thumb...may have to shade IR flash array to see it glow red...menu may start countdown...if flash doesn't glow you will get a 020000 error(flash/flash charging error). To fix you need to remove batteries,sd card, rubber plug from remote slot, 5 screws from face;lift out face and turn over. Remove 4 screws, keeping separate from other screws, from camera card and carefully unplug (3 plugin connectors) and carefully lift camera card out..no soldering required up to now..2 conductors,a red and a black, connect to the flash array at one corner...these go to the sensors on the face, slightly under main board...either the sensors are bad or the array is bad...getting replacements is the problem unless you can get them...I buy "as is" cams off eBay.

My screen doesn't cover the whole face of the monitor's screen. There's a 2 1/2 inch black strip on the left side. Its hard to describe.

Make sure you are running that latest video drivers for your video card and the settings are correct. If you are still having trouble you may have a defective monitor.

Can not turn on

Then it needs a new battery or some sort of repair. The button on the face turns the monitor on for use, if this doesn't work, then you need to replace something.

Trouble in my camera: no flash while taking photographs even though it is set in flash position. As on opening there comes a blinking like'E:919'& flash symbol. It arose 2days back when I just opened...

Flash capacitor doesn´t charge in a specific time. There may be more reasons. Camera remembers error state and do not use the flash even you turn it off and on. You can try to let it "forget" by resetting (initializing), but if problem persist, do not do it often, it may cause secondary problem.

OK, I've figured it out! There's something wrong with the control chip, so if you don't have it under warranty, here's what you can do:
1. Turn off the monitor
2. Unscrew the face of the monitor
3. Remove the bottom part of the face from the backside, so you can see the chip
(the control chip is located on the face of the monitor, under the buttons)
4. You will see a small white connector about 5mm wide, UNPLUGG it
5. Put the small cable that you've unconnected under the front, so you can close the monitor back
6. Close the monitor and plug it back in

That's it. You won't be able to change your settings (they autoadjust anyway), but you won't have to throw the monitor away!

Peace.
