Just bought a new panasonic universal remote eur7623x50 for homes ystem sc-ht800v but it does not work. Does the remote need to be recoded?

Try cold start.

Power off main set manually by press power button on main set.
Unplug power cord from main set.
Wait for about 5 sec.

[Without plug in power cord] Press and hold "Power" button without release it.

Plug in power cord (must have power) to main set by using another hand [while another hand still press on main set power button]

Keep holding until u see ------ on main set FL display.
Then release you hand which just now pressed on main set.

Power on main set again by manual press power button on main set.

Result should be OK (unlocked)
