Problem with lappy reading music discs and...

am sorry to bother you but I need some help and you were first one listed on website - over the past few months I have been losing the capability to have my lappy read info discs like those that install other programs like cam or other stuff then recently stopped reading music discs that I buy at store - and only thing the drive will do is read and show dvd's that are prerecorded and I have scanned rescanned tried several virus killers and other things and still it won't read what he used to read before - what is wrong with him (my computer)?
