Auto Channel Setting

This is an under the counter tv/dvd/radio combination unit Model MVUC821 and I am having difficulty Setting Channels Into Memory. When we follow the users guide instructions (pg 23), this process completes but doesn't recognize the satellite (cable) connection? Only local channels are picked up. The Auto Scan processing window does not show (Cable) as depicted in the Users Guide and I cannot find a way to select a setting for this through the menu.

This is an under the counter tv/dvd/radio combination unit Model MVUC821 and I am having difficulty locating and Setting Channels Into Memory. When we follow the users guide instructions (pg 23), this process completes but doesn't recognize or refer to any channels after it has scanned. We had a cable engineer confirm if the line was bad and it was not.

I cannot even locate a single local channel. The Auto Scan processing window does not show (Cable) as depicted in the Users Guide and I cannot find a way to select a setting for this through the menu.

You will have to disconnect the TV from the AC outlet for a few seconds(10-20) then reconnect the TV and press power. You should get the start up menu after you get a picture. What you have to do is use the vol up/dn , chnl up/dn keys to select the autoprogram setting after chosing from cable or antenna signal. the enter key should be one of the DVD keys either play or stop or some other key, you'll have to experiment a little with it. I GET TO THE WINDOW TO PROGRAM A RECORDING BUT FOR CHANNEL SELECTION I ONLY GET L- L-2 OR L3 I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SELECT THE CHANNEL LIKE 6 THIS IS A NEW HD TV. I AM ABLE TO PLAY EXISTING SHOW ON THE DVD...

Hi.

You will need to connect an antenna and program channels to internal tuner if you want to use the built in tuner.

It is not clear if your problem is with the HDTV or with the DVD recorder.

Both have an internal tuner, and both can tune channels , L2 and L3 are the input lines used when you connect for example to an external receiver.

Regards.

We own a Toshiba MW20FP1 Television set/vcr/dvd

If you look in the back of your manual under troubleshooting you will see this particular question addressed. In the beginning of setup you must designate wether the incoming signal is from an antenna or from cable. If you have to have a cable converter box then your TV must be on channel 3 or 4.
