Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

GE Dryer DBSR453Eb2WW takes twice as long to dry clothes

A clogged or partially clogged vent will reduce the air flow through the dryer and greatly increase the drying time. I assume you checked the drying time again after you cleaned the vents. Have you also checked that the lint trap is clean? Make sure no lint has found it's way around the lint trap and has jammed the intake.

I would be very suspicious of the 240 v breaker double breaker feeding the dyrer; maybe the dryer is only running on 120 vac instead of the full 240vac. The motor would be getting full power, but the heating element would only be getting half power.

Dryer is only 3 months old and is not drying clothes... why? technician came out twice and said dryer is up to 130 degrees but clothes are still not drying.

first make sure your vents are not clogged, inside and outside your home,, if they are free make sure the vent hose is not kinked when the unit is pushed back,, if all is good take the vent off the back and turn it on and make sure it is blowing air out while it is running

Dryer is not heating as hot as it has been. It is taking about twice as long to dry clothes. The dryer is barely 3 years old and we have had to replace the door latch switch already. thanks you, Jackie

I have a kenmore HE2 dryer and matching washer. It is 3 years old. It works and eventually clothes do dry. It does heat up. But it doesn't heat up as hot as it used to and it takes twice as long to dry...

Make sure you check your exhaust line and where the air blows to the outside. If your exhaust vent or hose is bent or restricted it will take a very long time to dry the clothes. Sometimes the vent flap on the outside exhaust is stuck shut. Clear dryer exhaust venting is critical for proper operation. Several companies offer a vent cleaning service where they completely clean out the exhaust lines.

Dryer gets hot but wont dry clothes

Do you know if the dryer vent is free of obstructions?Check outside where the dryer vents outside ,and see if the air is weak or flowing freely. If it is not clogged the air should be pretty strong from the vent outside. If it has blockage it will definitly take longer to dry your clothes.

Dryer heating but not drying the clothes

be 100% sure there is a good air flow outside the house where the dryer vents out this is the most comon problem. Next check in side the dryer drum at the back give a slight tug on the drum toward the front of the dryer you are looking to mack sure there is not a gap between the bulkhead and drum felt. If there is a good seal there then I would repace the Theremostat on the blower housing this is the cycle theremostat

Wet clothes take two 'trips' to dry.

UNPLUG THE DRYER THEN PRESS THE MORE TIME , AND THE LESS TIME BUTTONS AND THE POWER BUTTON FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS. THEN WAIT FOR 3-5 MINUTES THEN PLUG THE DRYER BACK UP . SEE IF THAT WORKS BY THAT RESET.
