Usually when the CD player does not open it is as a result of a disturbance or discrepancy in the disc tray mechanism. Best way out is to open the unit and examine the mechanism to adjust any discrepancy there. But it is adviced that such should be refered to an expert unless you have previous experience.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

The drawers on many CD players are belt driven. The belt may have gone bad. Others have a gear drive with a clutch plate that slips if the mechanism is overloaded. An excess of dirt or dust in the gears would be an overload. (The worst case I ever saw was a CD player in a woodworking shop. I had to clean out a lot of very fine sawdust from the plastic gears and lube them with paste wax before it would work.)

Caution: avoid looking into the CD laser lens when you have the unit plugged in. Even though you can't see the beam, it can burn a hole in the retina of your eye, leaving a possibly permanent blind spot. When I work on a problem like this, I turn the drawer motor pulley or gear by hand to test the mechanism so I don't need power. That way I can feel any drag or catch points that need to be addressed. Once it works manually, I avoid putting my face over the unit while I apply power for a pre-closure test.

Cd player won't open and won't power off.

This means that something in the mechanism is jammed. It keeps on trying to correct for the misalignment- a service technician will need to see the unit.

The basic problem is that the drive mechanism has failed. The problem with CD ejection can be caused by binding in the tray or a weakened ejection motor
