Question about Compaq Presario 700 470024-192 Notebook

My compac presario 700 laptop worked up until yesterday then the screen went crazy with pixils all over the screen and unable to see anything. I restarted and the laptop justs kicks on and off with nothing coming on the screen now. It doesnt stay on more than half a second and just kicks on and off until i take out the battery. Can you give me any advice? Thank you, Diane

Well, Diane,you could press F2 whilst booting to get into bios pages.Navigate here with "tab" and arrow keys.Make changes and save and exit or restore to factory defaults.Note your pc's hardware and boot sequence for future might have to re-install your Operating system from disks if you have them,not all pc's have the ability to restore OS from the harddrive only ones that have the image held there.----Good luck!

Plugged this in and got to the password window done went to the acceptance window tried and laptop wouldn't respond when I accepted tried it many times and then it just went black, shutdone not even the...

If it's still warrantied, Absolutely. The shutdown on that scale is a major hardware failure on the motherboard and a very serious issue. Outright replacement is preferred over repair if you can swing it.

Audio driver

Did you go to the Compaq/HP site and take the new drivers? maybe there is a new one.

What kind of windows do you use..?

it will not untill you install Microsoft UAA high definition driver, you can download it here

and then install sound and modem driver and if it still don't work then make sure you are not installing XP with service pack3 included.
