This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door hooks latch when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. Other times, it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

NOTE: There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

If you think the problem is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have a Russell Hobbs RHM2018 microwave oven with grill and the turntable will not stop going round and the light stays on until I unplug it? Once plugged back in it carries on in the same way? If I

The switch for the turntable does not disengage anymore. Could be a relais, could be an electronic switch. When opening the door, a second switch, in series with the other one, connected to the turntable motor disengages, stopping the motor. The light is switched on, because you opened the microwave. Perhaps you never noticed this, but it is the normal way that should work.

My JMC7000ADW microwave does not turn on and turntable does not turn, even though the counter with display is on and countdown starts as soon as you put time in it.

Open it up and look for button shaped thermal cutoffs, test for continuity. Also look for burned wires and repair. The magnetron is the likely culprit so i don't expect you to find anything else. Also there is a belt that turns the turntable. Just replace the belt. I have always salvaged microwaves out of the garbage (prior to the new appliance recycling programs) and pilfered free parts out of them. 95% or more had good magnetrons so i throw them into a box for future repairs.

Phillips whirlpool microwave turntable not turning

HELLO.

The turntable is the unit in the center of a microwave that you set your food on. It rotates during the microwave cycle, making sure all parts of a dish are properly heated. These are typically made of either hard glass or microwave-safe plastic.

Your microwave turntable may not turn due to any of these problems explained below.

(a)If your turntable is removable (as many are for cleaning purposes), it may have come loose from this turning mechanism.place the turntable properly on the turning mechanism.

(b)If your turntable was previously working and now does not any longer, check the settings on your microwave's LCD display to make sure you haven't accidentally turned off the turntable.
Most microwaves have different settings that the user can select with the press of a button, like a "Defrost" setting or a "Popcorn" setting. Certain microwaves may stop the turntable from turning during certain pre-programmed selection modes. Stop your microwave and don't use a pre-programmed mode. Instead, just specify the time using the number pads and start your microwave to see if your turntable begins to rotate again.

(c)The rotating mechanism on the inside of your microwave that rotates the turntable is actually connected to a small motor on the inside of your microwave's case. If this motor burns out or stops working, the mechanism will stop turning. This is something that needs to be replace.

follow these steps below to replace the faulty motor.

1. Open the microwave door, and carefully remove the turntable tray. Also, remove the frame that the turntable is positioned on. Both the turntable and the frame are not secured in the oven, so removing them is a quick process.

2 .Remove the bottom panel of the microwave. The Microwave Wizard website explains that the number of screws securing the panel varies depending on the manufacturer and specific microwave. Once the bottom panel is loosened, disconnect its wiring harness in order to completely remove the panel.

3. Locate the turntable motor. The Microwave Wizard website explains that the motor compartment should be positioned below the center of the microwave. Unscrew the motor, disconnect the wires, and remove it from the microwave.

4. Determine the specific part number for the turntable motor so that a correct replacement can be purchased or ordered. Position the new motor into the shaft in the bottom of the microwave. Screw the motor securely into place.

5. Test the microwave to make sure that the turntable motor is operating correctly. The Microwave Wizard website explains that the motor can make noises if it was not positioned evenly in the shaft. Reconnect all of the wires that were detached when removing the old motor.

6. Reinstall the microwave's bottom panel parts, and secure all of the screws in place. Reposition the turntable frame in the bottom of the microwave and place the turntable on top of it. Test the microwave in order to make sure that everything is working correctly.

Thanks.

It is possible that the relay is staying latched to supply voltage to the magnetron even after the timer shuts down. This is dangerous and must be rectified.
You need to check the door switch and the lines from the program timer to switch the relay of the magnetron. It is possible that the timer is faulty and needs a check on the reason why it stays latched unless the power is cut. You can disconnect the magnetron to test but attempt ONLY if you are familiar with high voltage/ electrical circuits.

Light and fan stay on and turntable no longer work

Hi,
Not sure if your model has a belt driven turntable or gear driven. The cause of your problem is most likely a worn or loose drive gear or a drive belt which is worn or has come off.
Best have this checked at your local repair shop.

Best wishes,

Advantium 120 Keeps running

I've got this problem also.
The interior light on the oven died. We replaced it. Since replacing it the light stays on and the turn table turns.

Looking at the diagram, the "main relay" is what powers both. My guess is that it's stuck in the "on" position. Solution will be replace the relay.

Long term fix may be bigger relay.
