Hi,

Try blowing air inside the player where the disc goes into. Use a can of compressed air with nozzle. Thereafter use a cleaning CD similar to those used by PC's CD ROM readily available from most computer shops/stores.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Try a hard reset first: Unplug from power source, wait about 10 minutes, and retry. See if this helps first..

According to the user manual , E-05 means the disc is unreadable.
Do you get this error for any disc you play or is specific to one or two discs?
If it is specific to a few discs, make sure that the CD's are in a format that the player reads. It could also be that they are dirty/scratched.
If this error happens for all CD's, then it is likely that the lens is dirty/scratched. Try using a CD lens cleaner, available from most electronics shops.
If the lens is scratched/opaque, then it would be cheaper to actually replace the whole player than just the lens, as it can be quite expensive for repairs.
If your unit is under warranty, I recommend calling the point of purchase and getting it replaced.

You can download the manual from here:
    http://www.retrevo.com/search/v2/jsp/dow...

Hope that helps..Please let me know how it goes...

The laser lens may be faulty, you can try a cleaner..

e-05 actually means that the cd is up side down, insert the cd correctly.

The laser lens is most likely faulty, if you got warranty get it replaced.

Unit powers up and beeps when buttons are pushed. All the menus work and everything looks alright but there's no music in any mode. Hit reset and checked wiring and fuse on back of unit. Any ideas?

if you have power it wouldn't be a fuse. if there is no audio, it could be a bad speaker (or more) causing the problem. a bad or shorted speaker can cause the radio's amp to overload and shut down. use an ohm meter to check the speakers and the wiring. above 4 ohms is a good number. below2 could cause problems.

Can I use a Chrysler/Infinity amp with aftermarker JVC radio?

it wouldn't be advised unless there are rca connections into the amp. these are the same as the inputs in the back of the jvc. It is possible to connect into an amplifier using speaker cable but i wouldn;t advise doing this unless you know what your doing.

Cd read e-05

Well E-05 error code on Kenwoods is "the cd is upside down" So either the disc is upside down or there is a problem and the Kenwood unit thinks it is upside down.

Clarion DB175 cd player

The Clarion manual lists 3 error messages.
Error 2-A disk is caught inside the CD deck and is not ejected.
Error 3-A disk cannot be played due to scratches, etc.
Error 6-A disc is loaded upside-down and cannot be played.

Good Luck.

Error message

Check and see if there is a fuse on the back of the unit if so check it to make sure that it is not blown. Also make sure that it is at least a 25 - 30amp fuse. If that is not it the make sure you have the power wires hooked up right. See a Er-05 message means that the power that that unit needs is not there. So it will not read all cd's. It takes more power to read a burner than a normal cd. Hopefully this helps

KDC-MP228 cd no play w/ codes

Gave up on it and bought a pioneer. Kenwood said to take it in to a service center. The service center would have cost me more than the crappy stereo.
