Question about GE Dryers

1 Answer

Dryer is plugged in and the power seems to be working fine...for example, the light is on when I open the door and the button for the light works when I push it on and off. However, when I push the start button for the dryer, it just makes a murmured humming sound, like a low hum. Nothing else happens and nothing else seems to function. Any suggestions?

If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.
