There are many reasons for the problem you have encountered, but most likely reason of no communication between receiver and remote is that pad of the remote is not making contact with carbon tracks of the remote. Open the remote and clean the tips(in side of the key pad) of the remote and carbon tracks on the PCB of the remote with damp/clean cloth or paper.
Some time remote sensor may be covered with dust/dirt, so clean it properly. Also check if there is rust on the metallic springs and strips in the battery box, not allowing the batteries to make contacts properly to feed the voltage to the circuitry. Clean / rub these with blade/ knife to shine.
If still it does't work then it needs the attention of an expert.
Hope this will help you.

Does not work

Check its battery contacts first. In remote controls, if battery contacts get rusted or dusty, proper battery connection will not occur. If battery contacts are good, check its infrared emission. You can check it with the help of a cellphone with camera option. Put the cellphone to camera mode, and place the remote control just one feet away from its lens, and push each button on the remote control. Eventhough human eye cannot detect infrared rays, electronic cameras can. If there is infrared rays emitting, you can see its image on the cellphone screen. If not, be sure that the remote contro is faulty. If there is infrared image, and still the device you wants to control does not respond; infrared sensor inside your device is faulty, and should be replaced. OK.

Our projector no longer recognises the remote. We changed the batteries thinking they had died but the remote still doesn't work even with the new ones.

Just to confirm if the remote is working you can do a simple test. Take the remote very close to a working AM radio tuned halfway ( 800 - 1000kHz ) make sure there are no active radio station on that tuning, turn the volume up high. Press any button on the remote and one should hear some bleepling sound as if in an alien movie. If so the remote is transmitting OK. If not replace the remote. Did the previous battery leak and damage the inside ??

Remote control doesn't work. Small red light stays lit.

First check the remote control with a similar TV.

By keeping a MW radio receiver you can check the functioning of the remote by pressing the keys. Radio will give garble sound!

If remote is OK , TV has to be checked.

Can't remove battery of remote to bose radio/cd player (won't work)

On the back of the remote there is a small hole. You need to slide the small lock in the hole over and the battery compartment should pop open. This requires something small like a straightened paper clip. You may need to coax it a little with your finger by pushing out off the end of the remote. There is a picture of this on the back of my remote. I just removed my battery so i could replace it. The battery size is CR2032.

I need a new remote control for hisense tv flat panel, where can i buy one?

I've had very good with the Radio Shack Universal Remote. It recognized everything I had. Try that, because if it doesn't work, you can take it back for a refund.
