There are a couple problems that could cause this. First is the trigger switch which could be worn out or have a short. The second and more common one is that the motor brushes are worn out. After a long period of use these little blocks that look like black steel blocks on springs are what rub on the rotor and they wear out. These are not steel but special high carbon blocks that are easily replaced and cost effective. Remove the housing and near the rear of the motor assembly you will find the brushes in two square holes on either side of the motor. Remove them (be sure it is unplugged) and replace them with new ones. They can be ordered directly from Bosch or from a host of suppliers on the internet.

what has to be removed to get the brushes out? they seem to be in there awfully tight and I don't want to break them or part of the housing.

It's not the climate control. It's the variable speed fan control. Not uncommon problem. Replace the controller. See this post

I want to make my ryobi 16 in scroll saw to a variable speed unit but the motor must be the brush type so i need to know if it does have brushes

more than likely but if it doesn't consider this
the ceiling fan is a brushless motor and its speed is controlled by a variable rheostat and there are plenty of ac motors that are speed controlled by clipping the sine wave of the ac current that are not brush and armature motors

When the router is at slower speeds, I can stop the motor when pushing wood through a bit. when I back off, the motor starts up again. Is this normal or do I have a problem with the router.

Is it a variable speed? Routers only cut at high speed, wood anyway, if it is variable speed, They must think you will be cutting something soft, I don't know, But they are like a dentist's drill, when they slow down, they don't cut, Keep that thing on high and make some dust, it should not bog down, If it does, check the brushes, if it still does, it has lost it's power and is basically shot. get a new one. Hope this helps.

Saw has no power.

Does the motor continue to run, but the arm stops? It sounds like the set screw on the motor shaft is loose. See the exploded view at this link. It's called out as # 97 http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/Products/DocumentView.aspx?productid=5682&typeId=3475&documentId=333

Spin half the speed

Hi.

Depending on the make and model, and type of washer, you may need to test and eventually replace the following parts:

On top loads:

Variable speed motor .
Motor coupler.
Transmission.
Control board.
Motor control unit (if present)

On front load :

Variable speed motor .
Motor coupler.
Control board.
Motor control unit.

On top load the problem is often transmission or variable speed motor. On front load MCU or motor.

I have an existing ceiling fan with a three speed controller. The low speed setting was too high so I have engaged an electrician to install a variable speed controller, Clipsal 32E500F Series. The new...

some manufacturer already attached a variable speed controller when you purchased them, meaning the unit requires this control, but in your case when you purchased it, it does not have any, meaning they sell it to the market as ready to use, so why install additional control?

There might be an installation error during the assembly, so all you have to do is just interchange the wire connected to the control from LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH, it is a trial and error thing but it won't affect or damage your unit, maybe your high speed connection was connected to a low speed control, so just inter-change it. Remove the variable speed control

Changing control switch

Sorry, but that is not going to work ,that motor is not compatible with that type switch. you would need a variable speed motor.Newer models have many more improvements, you should try one of them, much smoother cut. Good luck and please don't forget to rate this answer.Thanks.
