When I turn the TV on, the screen goes white. The blue power light turns to orange. I cant get a picture only a white screen. Neither the remote or the side buttons allow me to do anything. Its as though the TV is locked up. I believe this started when I tried to connect a dvd upconvertor through DVI connection.

hello, seems to be panel trouble, plasma and lcd main panels are not fixable, the color green isnt a good sign or it is a symptom of the panel being bad,
i know its a bad diagnosis but this is true with this color on a panel.
if it is a worth while set and you want to restore it theres few options one is replacement trough your waranty
the another is having the screen replaced by a service center this is to costly and rarely done by them they would advise you to get another set. at a retail price a screen replacement is as much or even more than the tv itself.
finally you may search online listings for a servicable tv same model and exchange the parts .
the third option is the best if your waranty is expired.
I just got a 42" komodo by Sceptre, same problem, except "SCEPTRE" showed on the screen. I was sent a USB key program to insert in the service slot in the back and it reflashes the bios. This is old news for you but maybe new for someone?
