You need a device-driver for your "audio" device (whether that device is integrated onto the motherboard, or it is a separate add-in card).
and click "Custom" search.
When it completes, click "Optional Hardware", to see if Windows Update is offering a device-driver for your specific "audio" hardware.

Generally, what manufacturer of computer?
What model of computer?
If it is an add-in audio-card, what manufacturer, and what model-number?
Access the manufacturer's web-site, and look for "downloads" or "support" hyperlinks.

Computer says no audio device found...speakers had been working for many not have software disc to reload

This sounds like it could be a case of corrupted drivers getting loaded. Without knowing what operating system you're running, I can only offer a general solution for Windows.

Often, if something was working just fine (ie. speakers, mice, etc.) and suddenly stop working for no apparent reason (ie. no new software, updates to existing software, etc.), a reload of the drivers will solve the problem.

Locate the Device Manager. Typically this can be found by Clicking Start --> Control Panel --> Performance and Maintenance --> System. Select the Hardware tab, then Device Manager. Look for the Sound, video, etc. listing. Expand the list by clicking the "+" sign. Check the listing for a yellow question mark. If one is found, right click on that item and select Properties. Click on the Driver tab. Click the "uninstall" button. This may seem a bit scary, but the affected device will come back in the next step! Go back to the Device Manager listing and right-click on another device. Select "Scan for hardware changes". This will find device you just "uninstalled", reload and reconfigure the drivers.

If you still have the problem, provide some additional details.
