The PDA is on because it will sync with a computer. THe screen is simply blanking out after it starts up and then I have no visual

  • qgfine Oct 25, 2010

I tried the hold switch and it makes no difference. I also tried stuffing the sensor switch for the cover with no change in results.

Do you have any more info? I don't know any more that I did at the start.

My PDA is on. It syncs with computers. The screen simply blanks out and I have no visual. It goes through the initial default screens and then goes off when it goes the screen I selected. I have only gotten one comment and it did not help. Someone needs to give me a more definitive answer. I am computer literate and a power user. I build my own computers, so feel free to talk a little technical.

Hello.

Since you have already performed soft and hard resets, give this a try (from helpersam, FixYa Support):

Next to the headphone jack, on the longer side, you will find a "HOLD" slider switch. It is presently showing red, meaning engaged. Push it back to the off, or normal position.

Also, if your device is still under warranty, consider a return / replacement.

Hope this helps.

Nokia express music.i'm finding it difficult to start my fone.each time i turn it on,the nokia screen comes on as if the fone is booting and everthing goes blank.

Hi,

Reset to factory defaults ( *#7780# ) : Restores settings but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)

Reset ( *#7370# ) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

Hard reset:

1. Switch off the phone.

2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.

3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.

4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.

Make sure you make a backup first before doing the hard reset. All your data in phone memory will be lost.

Eee Pc starts with blank screen. it starts up and goes straight to a blank screen. wireless and power light on. No hard drive light. what can be done to this?

it could be a ram issue. if you're proficient with your hardware and the lappie is out of warranty try removing the ram sticks then re-seating them. this resets the ram and allows the monitor to turn on

Asus A626 keeps cutting off

I had a problem similar to this, and I used YOUR solution to fix it. In fact looking for you to thank you for the idea is how I found this problem.

Sometimes even with the battery cover on and intact, the sensor does not correctly detect it. My screen was turning off randomly and sometimes would not even get through the Asus init before it would turn off again.

So, looking at the solution you posted I pushed a small wad of Kleenex in the hole and then put the cover back on. It's been running fine for almost a day now.

So, thanks for the suggestion. I had no idea that sensor was there.

Cannot remove the calendar events

Did your friend do a "hard reset" of the PDA before she gave it to you? A hard reset should erase all user settings and data, returning the system to its default state.

The ASUS 626 User Manual (Ch. 1, Pg. 4) refers to this process as a "clean reset". The following instructions were extracted from the user guide:

NOTE To perform a clean reset, press the launch button and
simultaneously pressing the stylus on the reset switch. Then
a warning message appears. Press to do clean reset, or
press to leave the operation screen.
Performing a soft reset will not change the data in the device;
while performing a clean reset will delete all data

On the right side of your ASUS A626 there is a switch that says "HOLD". Make sure that isn't flipped on.

Blank screen

Try soft reseting your phone. If that doesnt work then try hard reseting.  To soft reset take the stylus pen and push in the little hole on the bottom of the phone. You should feel a little click and then your phone will restart. Wait until your phone  starts up again and if it still isnt working then do a hard reset.
To hard reset, hold down the green send button and the red end call button at the same time and continue to hold them down as you then push your stylus pen into the hole on the bottom of the phone untill you feel the little click. Your phone should start to reset.  Be warned you will loose any information saved to the phones memory ie: phone numbers, pictures, personal settings. Anything saved to your memory card should be ok.
If your screen remains blank after trying both resets I would suggest taking it back to where you got it and and have them fix it or replace it.
Hope this is helpful.

PDA intermitently powers up then freezes on "Palm Powered" screen

I had the same issue. What you need to do is to hold the power on/off button than press the reset button. The screen turns off (get black) than the will ask you to make a hard reset (which end up deleting all datas). The Palm will power on like the first time you turned it on after you bought it. Than depending which version you have it will possible ask you which language you will like to have as default. After selecting you neet to setup the rest. If this is done you sync it all data will come back :-)
