Take it to Sears sewing department and maybe the salesman can help you determine what the answer is for free. Other than that unless I could see it, I don't know the answer for sure. I can guess and say it is in your threading or your needle is not inserted properly (could have a piece of thread or cloth up in the shaft that holds the needle) and the flat side is facing the rear of the machine.

My thread keeps breaking, Ive checked and changed my needle, re-threaded bobbin and upper but every time I try to sew the upper thread breaks.

Have you tried loosening the upper tension? Remove the upper thread, RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning (make sure it follows the correct thread pathway). Sometimes the upper thread jumps out of a thread guide or wraps around something. Or try a different brand of thread? Avoid old or bargain bin threads--use good quality thread. Could also be the incorrect needle for the thread/fabric, ie thread too large for the needle eye.

Why does bobbin thread keep snagging?

increase the needle thread tension up a bit as it is too loose to pull the bobbin thread up properly
keep adjusting until both threads are at the middle of the materials being sewn

My bobbin and thread are constantly breaking. I have the correct thread to needle, but I don't even get one stitch before both break. Tension is on auto; should it be less or more?

is the needle in the holder the correct way ( groove in the needle facing the thread )
Is the needle eye the correct size for the thread in use

remove it from auto tension setting and adjust it your self
make sure that the top thread is between the tension plates and not around the thread behind the plates
the thread tension is close to correct when you need a bit of a pull to pull it along to the needle
is the method of threading to the needle correct as any areas where the thread reverses direction will cause it to break
what do mean that the bobbin is constantly breaking or is it the bobbin thread that is breaking
have you got the thread down the case slot and under the flat spring correctly
the bobbin has to be inserted into the case in such a manner that when the thread is pulled , it flows down the slot freely as the bobbin turns
if the direction is wrong , the thread has to move across the sharp edge of the slot and will cut easily

How do I set a straight stitch? What is causing the top thread to break?

You do not say which machine you have. As for a straight stitch, make sure the needle is central and not in zig zag mode.
The thread can break for several reasons, such as. Incorrect tension.
:Wrong thread for the material.
: Thread in bobbin different from the top thread.
:Old thread.
: Not threaded correctly.
: Needle not inserted correctly, or incorrect needle.or the thread could be wound around the spool holder pin,
Try removing the spool and turn it around.
Hope this helps.

WHY IS MY THREAD WRAPPING AROUND THE BOBBING IN THE SHUTTLE WHEN I PRESS START

THE BOBBIN HAS ONE METAL PART ON TOP AND ANOTHER PART THAT KEEPS THE BOBBIN FROM MOVING FORWARD. TURN YOUR HAND WHEEL AND WATCH WHICH PLACE DOES THE THREAD GET STUCK. IF IT IS THE ONE ON TOP THEN IT WILL NEED TO BE RAISED SLIGHTLY BY MAKING A PULL WITH NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS. (VERY SLIGHT) IF IT GOES UNDER IT BUT STOPS AT THE AREA WHERE THE LITTLE INDENTATION IS THEN YOU WILL NEED TO LOOSEN ONE OF THE SCREWS AND SLIGHTLY TO ALLOW THE THREAD TO PASS BY. THE THREAD HAS GOT TO PASS THESE AREAS OR YOU WILL NOT SEW.

My thread keeps breaking and the bobbin tension is too loose

adjust the top thread tension one number or letter higher at a time
and sew on a scrap piece of fabric till the stitches look normal

The needle thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle

Thread keeps breaking

Have you got the needle in the correct way around - the thread must lie in the groove in the needle. Is the machine correctly threaded? Try release the tension a bit and check that the bobbin tension is not too loose and bunching up under the needle plate. The instructions for bobbin tension setting are:- Check that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder. The bobbin tension adjustment is the small screw in the plate on the bobbin case that the thread passes under as it comes off the bobbin and goes out. This might not be exactly the same as yours but should give you an idea of the position.

Bobbin thread does not loop up when threading machine. Then the needle thread get wraped around the inside the bobbin sewing the material to the machine

There are so many thing you need to re-check.

First clean out the bobbin area to be sure there aren't any thread tangles still there.

Open the manual and start from the beginning with threading the machine with the presser foot lever UP - always.

Read the instructions and do not rely solely on the pictures as we all sometimes rush to do (I am just as guilty as the next person to do this).

Make sure the bobbin thread is feeding from the bobbin case in the correct direction.

Hold onto the end of the top thread (after needle has been threaded) and lower then raise the needle to catch and bring up the bobbin thread.

Place the fabric under the presser foot and as you hold onto the ends of the top and bobbin thread, hand walk the first stitch, then use the power pedal.

Top thread keep breaking - It looks like I have threaded it correctly but when I use the wheel to pull up the bobbin thread it is wraped around the needle - not nice and neat like it is suposed to be

It sounds like you have a burr on the hook that picks up the thread. You would have to take out the bobbin case and file it off with a very fine sandpaper
