When you replaced the lamp, was it doing the same thing? I doubt the lamp was bad, maybe but doubtful. I would try to adjust the color on it. What kind of TV do you have? I need the model and year.

Blue Haze in middle of screen progressively getting larger

This one is easy. WHen this happened to me, I simply called GE extended warranty service up and bought an extended warranty. I waited 30 days and called them up with my problem. A repair man showed up a few days later with the 1200 dollar light engine and installed it and left. Then I called GE up and cancelled the warranty. Total cost?: 48 bucks

Hi,
Green picture is caused by the light engine (the projection part of tv) failing and has to be replaced. Sony has extended the warranty on some models so you might be in lick. Contact them with model and serial number they can help setup repair if you qualify. If it is not covered it can cost between $1000-2000 to fix, which is way too much.

You need to have the lamp/bulb replaced. It's a sign it's going out.

Yellow circle

There are a couple of things that this could be caused from.. Its hard to say without actually looking at the set, but they are as follows.

The lamp is what you heard pop, they are under extreem pressure when on, and when they get to the end of there life, they will expolde if not changed in time.

The circle can be caused by 3 things.

1 : when the lamp exploded, it knocked the internal mirrors and lenses and or burned them due to high heat and brightness of the explosion.

2 : The polarizing filters that are infront of the lcd could have also gotton burned.

3 : The lcds could have also been burned.

If the haze happened right after the pop, I would expect that you bumped one of the lense or mirrors in the optics out of whack or even cracked the glass. If the haze has been present prior to the pop, then your lcds or filters are shot.

Sony KDF-E42A10 Screen is Not Bright

try a lamp first, through best buy their about $150 -250. If that fails it might be the optic block assembly which is about $1,000, and i just recently had replaced, and the picture is as bright and clear as when i got it two and half years ago
