Hi thanks for contacting FixYa. My name is Don.

Whilst it is "possible" to fix the carry handle it is a far trickier job than just buying a whole new Cyclone. For this reason Dyson do not sell the handle separately.

I would suggest you buy the whole new cyclone. You can buy them new for around £30 £40 from Dyson or Espares.co.uk.

You could probably get a second hand one or better still a refurbished one on eBay though. Shouldnt cost you too much on Ebay. Maybe £15

Hope this answers your query.

Thanks for contacting FixYa. Don

How to remove and replace dyson DC07 frame assembly plastic housing, I have the new frame assembly, but can't figure out how to remove the old one.

Hi there,

As this procedure should only be carried out by a Dyson engineer, unfortunately we can't provide instructions on how to replace the casing of your DC07.

If you'd like to arrange for your cleaner to be serviced, you can do so by calling us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

How do you empty the dyson dc07 dirt container. I cant get the container to open

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties emptying your DC07. The bin is designed to empty from the base when you pull the trigger under the carrying handle - you can see the correct way to do this in the user guide supplied with your cleaner. In case you don't have yours to hand, here's an online copy:

http://media.dyson.com/downloads/us/floorcare/manuals/dc07_opmanual_usa.pdf

If you're following these directions and the bin won't release, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Electrical short in handle

When you say there's a short in the handle, this can really be one of two things. It can either be the switch, or the cord.

Here's a link to repair that I did on how to replace the switch on your Dyson DC07:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t4576474-power_button_stay_down

And here's the repair that I did that shows you how to replace the cord on the Dyson:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t4560429-no_power_dyson_animal

This can really only be the two things that have an electrical short in the handle.

I hope this helped you,

How do i empty my dyson dc07

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Remove the bin and cyclone assembyl by pressing the release button above the word Dyson on the carrying handle towards the machine.

Then hold the bin and cyclone assembly over a dustbin and pull the trigger located underneath the carrying handle which will release the bin base to empty the dust and debris from the bin.

I hope this information is useful to you and should you need any further help or advice, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards

Just stopped mid hoovering and now won't switch on!

It is probably a thermal cut-off which is caused by a blockage. The machine will turn itself off before it overheats if it is a thermal cut-off. Once it has cooled down, you will be able to turn it back on again (usually 30 mins - 1 hour).

If the machine doesn't turn on at all anymore, you may need to replace the power switch. Call the Dyson helpline, they will do a blockage troubleshoot and if it's not that, they will tell you where you can find an authorized Dyson repair dealer in your area.

Hose buckling/crumpling when Hoover is turned on
Posted by mildwarthog on May 08, 2008
Hi - I'm having a problem when I turn my Dyson DC07 on, that the suction is causing the hose to buckle/crumple out of shape which then means I can’t Hoover through the hose. After a short while the motor starts to overheat from trying to maintain suction through the crumpled hose is it simply time to buy a new hose, or is there anything else I can do to fix this problem?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Dyson DC07 All Floors Bagless Upright
Once you hose starts to breakdown there is really nothing you can do other than replacing the hose. This is true on almost every vacuum on the market because they are using in most case the plastic hose and the heat and the product you pickup breaks down the hose and starts to lose its strength and starts to collapse. You may want to check with your local vac dealer to see if he has a new one or a good used one for ½ the price. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Emptying cylinder

I hope you've found out by now, but, in case you haven't, the latch to remove the canister is right by the handle on top of it, just don't lift until you release the latch with your thumb, it's got a safety to keep you from hitting the release when you're using that handle to carry the vacuum.  (good engineering).

you can download a manual from the dyson site, here:
