The mounting scre is probably a 3/8" and your camera takes a 1/4x20. 2 solutions::a ball head to mount between tr4ipod and camera, or search eBay for a 3/8" to 1/4" reducer.

I am thinking of using Vivitar Series One 28-300mm f/4.0-6.3 Auto Focus for Nikon D2x...! Does this have aimage stabilisation motor in it?? Do u recommend this for the camera??

I don't think it has image stabilization. If you use a tripod, stabilization is not important. If not, you can increase your shutter speed to compensate. Vivitar makes fair quality lenses, but you have a Nikon. I presume that you bought your Nikon because you want top quality images. If it is a matter of money, I would wait until I could afford a Nikon lens. As an alternative, consider used Nikon lenses. I generally carry a 10-24 mm DX, 28-105mm and 70-300 mm and a 60mm macro when I travel and it works well.

My nikon D-80's flash won't pop up, yet it also won't go past the flash sync speed of 1/200 while flash is down

Was the camera impacted? Sound like the flash up switch if always closed. Remove battery. If you carefully remove the flash cover (two screw underneath) by first inserting a business card under the flash on the rewind side (yeah, we haven't come up with a better term!) at the back and slide it forward freeing the flash down latch), and do not touch the flash tube as there is 300 + volts across it if it is charged!

Look at the pivot for the flash on the release button side at the back, you will see a small switch. the top part may be under the activating rod - reset it above the rod and it will now work properly

Once again, be careful - there are 300 volts across the flash tube if it is charged

I have Nikon af s 300mm f2.8, it only work with D3s, D300s but not with my D70. Can you tell me why and is it lens problem or camera

Hiyour lens should be af-s 300/2.8 vr.. nikon product are all compatible. which means your d70 something wrong I think. If you have bundle lens with d70, you can check it out easy. usually d70 comes with af-s 18-55 which is pretty much same work method with af-s 300. THanks and best regard!

Can't find my download to computer from my Nikon Coolpix P50 Camera

I assume that you mean that you cannot find the pictures that you downloaded....so, go to Start. In the search window, type *.JPG

(that is star dot jpg )

Next - at the top of the results window, click on Date Modified.

The most recent pictures are your most recent downloads!! and to the right of the date is the exact folder that the downloads are stored in.

How to fix a nikon lens

It can be repaired, but you'll need to get the right front lens, which will need to come from Nikon. You are better off to take it into a Nikon dealer for this. Unless....you are talking about the filter (usually the flat screw on UV filter that we put on the front to help protect from these kinds of problems. If you had one of those on it just unscrew it and replace it with a new one.
