Ihave a DLP Projection TV, Model Number 52SX4D. When I try to turn it on, in the operation indicators, the second light from the top flashes and then the TV shuts off?

Hi Brian,

The operation LED indicators on DLP Projection TV's also act as 'Diagnostic Indiactors'.

The flash sequence of these LED's indicate the appropriate fault - you will need to refer to your User Manual which should explain what each flash sequence means.

Generally, most faults on DLP TV's relate to either cooling (fan operation), faulty/expired lamp, or even a loose panel (lamp door etc) somewhere is not correctly secured, causing a micro switch to trigger a shut down.

If you don't have a User Manual, try downloading it from the manufacturer's website.

Hope this helps......

Cannon Pixma ip90 printer mechanical failure code 5100. Printer works for about 2 inches then stops with failure code 5100

The error 5100 actually means nothing. You need to look at the printers green and orange lights. they will be flashing in a certain sequence. Count the way the lamps flash ie.Green are mechanical faults and orange are operator correctable faults. When you have the info repost and i will help you further.

DWF 415 Ikea Whirlpool Dishwasher has constant green blinking light. Drain pump works ok (as it will pump out a jug of water if I tip it into it!) but no water comes in. Cycle stops about 30 seconds after...

Anyone got an answer to this, as I have exactly the same fault.

Dishwasher appears to switch on OK, then after a short time (20 secs?) the pump noise stops and the green light flashes - it seems to e a sequence of 7 flashes, then stop... 7 flashed then stop.

The sequence could indicate a fault detected?

Anyone know anything about these units from IKEA, made by Whirlpool?

Thanks!

HOLD LIGHT FLASHES & TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE

Hi there,

The bad news: your vehicle's computer has detected an internal fault in your transmission.

The good news: your computer may be flashing a fault code 'sequence' through the 'hold' light. Observe the code sequence to determine how many long flashes and short flashes occur - long flashes represent the 1st number, short flashes represend the 2nd number (e.g. 3 x long flashes - pause - 2 x short flashes, denotes code # 32).

If you are able to report back with a code of any sort, I may be able to advise the likely fault.

Cheers,

Can u help? tv will not come on. clicking noise and red light flashing????

the flashing sequence is a guide to the problem

2 flashes space 2 flashes to 9 flashes space 9 flashes

once we know these we can pretty much determine the problem. None are good of course! They are all faults that need a repairman to intervene. There is no magic fix!

Please reply and I will give you the answer based on the sequence

Dell Dimension 5100 Won't start up

Hi

First disconnecting the power cord and re-seat all connections (Keyboard, Mouse espercially). Connect up the power cord and try powering the PC.

To help you troubleshoot a problem, Dell Dimension 5100 has four diagnostic lights labeled "1," "2," "3," and "4" on the front panel. When the computer starts normally, the lights flash. After the computer starts, all four lights display solid green. If the computer malfunctions, the color and sequence of the lights identify the problem.

If the computer failed to start up check the diagnostic lights color and sequence and Check the link below for more info (Assuming you have another system that can access internet)
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/tshoot1.htm#wp1120147

Alternatively, contact Dell Support with the diagnostic lights color and sequence to raise a service call if the system if under warranty.

Clean light blinks

The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models. I believe the problem is attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there was some sensitivity issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers. There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics1.gif mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation. To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen to heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that you will fill the dishwasher with hot water water instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines before the hot water from the hot water tank heats the line. This should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on what the flashing light sequence is in determining WHAT component is bad. Let me know if this helps you. Post back with your comments or questions.
