I tried two different units and neither produced a picture that was remotely acceptable. All were blurred, as from motion, not just from defocussing. I returned both units. The binoculars are OK, but you can get binoculars that are just as good for a lot less money. Tne built-in camera is the novel part and it just doesn't work.

Got this for my Dad for Christmas but cannot give it to him since the camera is so very bad. Everything is fuzzy and black or gray. Even when connected to the PC as a webcam the pictures are distorted and black/gray.

When downloading pictures, they are fuzzy, blurry and unidentifiyable. This seems to be a common problem. Am ready to return camera unless you can offer a solution.

All my pictures are fuzzy, blurred or unreconizeable too. I consider the digital camera portion JUNK as reported on other web sites. Call for technical help. There no TECH help avialable since Vivitar has sold out to SAKER till Feb 2009. Am going to return my camera to the store hopefully for a refund.

This is a cheap knockoff of a camera, the maximum quality is 640x480 I can find these for 20 dollars. Its just bad quality there noting you can do about it. you have to buy a better camera, or a better binocular camera.

Try putting the memory card in a USB card reader attached to your computer, which should see it as another drive. Write-protect the card first.

plug in the camera and then go to start>programs>accessories>microsoft camera and scanner wizard and you will be able to copy all the pictures. If you need further assistance let me know.

Whenever i connect the camera to my computer nothing happens . Its like its not even connected and i want to upload pictures

Try and find your camera's driver to download on your computer. Or upload your pictures using your SD card, and not direct through your USB camera.

Problem Uploading pictures

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Fuzzy Pictures

When you resize an image (especially if the original image is quite large), you need to sharpen it before uploading.

Besides that, there's many other parameters that affect the image quality. The picture you uploaded here is too small to be properly examined. Make sure, in any case, that:

1) The camera has focused properly. Especially in items like the one shown (with multiple reflective surfaces), a camera can be easily fooled and focus on something other than what you intended
2) Make sure the camera settings are appropriate (ISO should not be too high, shutter speed should not be too slow)
3) Use a tripod for maximum stability
