I have looked in all these but cannot find usb mode or change anything to do with file and folder.
Can you help?
Hi,
Mine did this too when I first tried to connect it. Turned out the small pcbd under the top half of the back cover was unplugged or mis pinned. It looks like it's just a pressure fit for that connector holding it together so it might be pretty easy for the board to come loose. It's worth a peek to see if that is the case in your unit. Easy to check, just remove battery cover and battery and two screws on the top back plate, small board shoudl be securely seated. Good luck, hope this works
If your XP machine is not seeing the device, changing the USB mode won't help.
If you are using one of the PCs front USB ports, try using the back ports...they're more stable. If the PC still is having an issue, try removing the device driver and re-connect the player to re-install the driver. This is a Plug-n-Play device, and will use a common USB audio device driver for MP3 players that is in your SP1 or SP2 (preferrably SP2) driver pack that is pre-installed in the XP system.
If these fixes do not work, I would recomend troubleshooting and repairing your OS since the correct driver appears to be missing.
If this does not work, get in touch with me directly and I will try and assist you further.
